These headphones are amazing. I have Beats Solo HD headphones, but they just don't compare to these. ** Update **: ========= My ears no longer get sore from these. I just I just needed to break them in. Pros: ==== Sound: --------- The Beats have stronger Bass, but it wasn't quality. It was just heavy, heavy bass. These have strong bass, but quality bass. It's hard to explain, but you don't feel overpowered by the bass, but still notice it and all the subtle nuances of that bass. I haven't got that bass to stutter yet, or clip out. The mids and highs are perfect. The high tones are, to paraphrase another reviewer, sparkly. Build Quality: ----------------- The build quality is excellent, they feel tough for sure. When you fold them up, they fit snugly and securely in their little tiny hard case. The case is strong, unlike the beats case. So its easy to transport. It also comes with a carabiner to clip easily to a backpack. Though I feel that's just asking someone to steal it, I keep it in my small messenger bag. It feels tough, but at the same time, I don't want to even test that, as it's not cheap and I like keeping my stuff in nice condition. The top headband is much better quality than anything beats has. Packaging: --------------- The box it comes in is tiny, you may not think you got the right package, haha. But trust me, this things pack small, but have the same size as the beats solo hd's. The box they come in is top notch, has leather accents too. I'm sure not everyone cares about this, but I like nice packaging. Extras: -------- - The sharing port is pretty sweet, so you don't have to carry an adapter if you want your buddy to listen to what you are listening to. - The Case is really nice, the zipper on it is very firm, and it's tough. This thing will protect your gear well. - Interchangeable and laser etch-able shield plates. - They look slick. Cons: ===== - The one thing that I could knock against this compared to the beats, the headphones are not adjustable horizontally, like the beats. Meaning you can't swivel them left/right on the Y axis. But it doesn't really matter as these are built to fit a certain way, and the ear cushions have memory foam. But it's possible that this design may not fit 'every' style of head. - You may find after a while your ears could get sore, but I've heard this is just a break in thing. It seems that may be because I have thick framed glasses, not sure. Time will tell. - The other knock against these, sound leak. They do it, but you can't expect an on-ear to not do this. I think over ear headphones are the only ones that can really block the sound. - The cord does mic, call answer, but not volume. Not a huge deal. Not sure if a new cord could be used that has these or not.
