Well constructed and VERY sharp.
I'm an A&E Ambulance Technician. So far they've easily cut through everything I've tried with no problems at all, inc boots and motorbike leathers. Still seem as sharp as new. Seem very well designed and are super sturdy compared to the standard issue shears. Also, very easy to clean (esp compared to the Leatherman Raptor (which otherwise is a great, if expensive, bit of ki)t. Note: I did not buy the matching holster for 3 reasons: 1. Expensive - the combination of shears and holster gets you into Raptor price territory 2. Apparently though very secure the holster needs a 2 handed operation to get the shears out. Instead I use a cordura holster - there are lots of identical ones on Amazon (with a substantial price range. 3. It looks quite bulky for what it is. These are still expensive shears but should last years - if I don't loose them at a job!. Finally, don't check the $ price - you will only get depressed.

Not delivered despite several new delivery dates
Would like to review the item, looks very good. But if you want it I would suggest you go else where. After over two weeks, and a shifting delivery slot, still no show. I have ordered items from America which have arrived before this. Awful service. Very disappointed. Edit: I still haven’t received these , nor have I heard from the supplier. I have however received a pair of xshears next day delivery from Reflex medical. The item is excellent, save yourself the hassle and order from someone other than Medical Aide Memoire.

Very good quality and easy to cut things like jeans, and any field dressing. Leverage is good but note these are not compound type pivots, but for a single pivot it has enough leverage and the blades short enough for medical field kits and carry.

I used the Leatherman Raptors for a long time, but I finally made the switch to these and I’m not looking back. The biggest issue with the Raptors is all the folding parts and hinges. They eventually get "gunked up" with... well, everything you encounter on the job. Once blood or fluids get into those tiny crevices, they are a total nightmare to deep clean. Plus, over time, all those moving parts just start to feel loose. The XSHEAR is just better for daily use: • Simple & Clean: These are a solid piece of gear. No folding hinges or hidden spots for gross stuff to hide. You just wipe them down and you’re good to go. • Built to Last: Because they don't fold, they feel way sturdier. There’s no "play" in the blades, and they don't get wobbly after a few months of heavy use. • Performance: They cut just as well (if not better) than the Raptors, but without the headache of maintaining a "multitool." If you’re tired of scrubbing gunk out of your folding shears with a toothbrush, just get these. They’re tougher, simpler, and way easier to keep sanitary.
