Best favoritest pencil ever!
First things first, 0.3mm lead is awesome! I love the fine point soo much! I can write so tiny! But the main feature, the lead rotation mechanism, is just MWAH. so good. I love how sharp it makes my letters look, even with the 0.3mm lead it is even better! The only complaint is the typical tiny almost microscopic eraser. I mean, really, it's 2020 why can't we get better erasing solutions? But beside that, it's pretty comfortable, I enjoy writing with it. I like the knurled grips better but those only come in 0.5mm that I've found. Even so, it's sleek and nice looking and comfy. Those discreet rubber rings really make a difference, give you fingers something to grip on. very nice!

Professional Quality Pencil
Precision point. Lead rotates automatically to produce a fine point with each new stroke. Feel of the barrel is high quality. Excellent weight and tactile feel overall.

The best tool for the job.
Having a tool that's any less than the best inhibits your productivity and efficiency. Whether that tool is a truck, a saw, or a computer, your life will always be the easiest when you have the best tool. That's how I feel about this pencil. It writes the exact same every time. The lead feeds predictably. It's remarkably durable, having sustained almost a year of all day use in school and suffering multiple drops on its tip. This tool is made for writing, not erasing. The eraser is very small just to fulfill the stigma of all pencils having erasers. If you want a great eraser, check out the Tombow Mono series. Once again, best tool for the job. This pencil is amazing. If you write with pencils all day, get it.

Great pencil.
I use this pencil more than any other now. For drawing, writing, anything else you need it for? Pros: Durable, its been dropped, stepped on, thrown, etc. and it works fine. Smooth writing, the mechanism works well, though not perfectly. sometimes you have to help it a bit. Cons: Small eraser, for this you'll either want more backup erasers, or a large eraser. The rubber bits wear off over time, This is probably due to me messing with them, but they probably wont last more than 2 years or so.

Still my favorite pencil
To preface this, I have the blue 0.3 version that I bought a few months ago from a different site, so I have a point of reference for comparison and I received the black one instead of the blue one that I ordered, which I didn't really mind since it's just color, but does not come in 0.3 size like the blue version does if you want 0.3 instead of 0.5. Anyway, this is the review of the black version of the Kuru Toga. I wanted another of my favorite mechanical pencil at work, so I decided to get it through Amazon this time around. As a mechanical pencil, it writes very well; the grip is smooth and there's a small ring of silicone that kind of looks like a tiny gasket near the end of the barrel that I tend to like to grip (you can see this in the pictures I included, especially on my blue version that I already own), and it has a nice weight to it that made writing with it feel great. The lead came out with no issues, and the mechanism that this pencil is known for does indeed turn the lead each time you lift the pencil so the point stayed sharp and I wish these are easier to find in the US. There is one issue that I found with the black version and that is the barrel of the pencil felt cheaper than the blue version that I previously bought and have used for the last half year. It's not that it's not sturdy, it feels like a different type of aluminum was used compared to the pencil I already own. It's not a deal breaker for me, but I was mystified and thrown off guard by the difference; it felt a little cheaper aluminum in comparison to my other pencil. All in all, the pencil is a really good pencil and still is my absolute favorite, even if I was sent the wrong one. I ended up gifting it to my little sister since I don't have any 0.5 lead for when the pencil runs out of the provided lead, and I don't plan to get any 0.5 lead just for this pencil. I also wanted to see if she'll like it as much as I do. (Four stars because of the aluminum difference, but I still liked the pencil as it is.)

Truly appreciate fine lines
These pencils are excellent and work exactly as advertised. They come with highly effective erasers. Really, the erasers leave your paper spotless. And your lines will be very consistently a nice fine .3mm, every line, every time. Even though these pencils aren't cheap, I've bought three more since the first one I tried and my preferred brand of mechanical pencil has changed to these. My handwriting is very small and a bit sloppy and these make it slightly easier to produce legible characters and recognizable drawings.

Great pencil for neat-freaks
I'm pretty happy with this pencil. I've been reviewing some old math material, and have always preferred to graph on 1mm square paper--the smaller, consistent lines have really done a lot to clarify my work. The sharpening mechanism works like this: every time you lift your pencil up (or put it down?), it rotates the lead slightly using a gear mechanism. It's really clever, and for my purposes completely non-disruptive. Some people have complained that the eraser is too small on these Kurutogas--while it's true that the eraser is tiny, I can't understand why one might want a larger one on this particular model. If you need the precision afforded by a 0.3mm pencil lead, you'll probably need the precision of a small-profile eraser. (edit: I mistakenly believed that this item only came with one stick of lead, when in fact it came with three).

Solid pencil
Better than the plastic body Kuru Togas. No issues so far. This one has a metal body making it a little heavier than the plastic body ones. But it’s balanced and the weight makes it feel like it’s a better quality writing tool.

Much better than I expected it to be. The lead turning mechanism really works well, nice to hold and a beautiful electric blue colour. Works well with pentel AIN 2B leads. Not gimmicky, but really practical.

I've been looking for a decent 0.3mm pencil for some time now. I like the extremely fine line they produce, great for detail drawing and extremely small print. Unfortunately I hold the pen in an exaggerated slant as I use it and as the lead is used, the line tends to thicken. Adjusting the pencil occasionally has me stabbing the medium, sometimes ruining the whole document. Imagine my surprise when I saw that a company has attempted to rectify this issue. Rotating pencil lead, what a concept! Trigger was pulled late last year, and I received this little machine just before X-Mas 2017. Well, constructed, quality parts went into this. While I wish it came in other colors, the blue has grown on me. But if a red one ever comes along, look out! The rotation indicator tells me that the lead is spinning but only if I remove the pencil off the medium. Yes, there is some play at the writing point, but obviously it's needed to make the rotation work. I can't say I've noticed much less damage to the paper, but it does appear that the even-ness of the writing has improved slightly. It's probably too much to ask for the inclusion of an automatic lead advance feature, because at 0.3mm in the HB hardness the wear is ridiculous. I took the liberty of purchasing the company's refills, and yes, they do seem to be a bit harder to break than standard leads, but after about 5 words I'm having to pause to advance the lead. I'll try H or 2H refills in the future, see if that helps. UPDATE: H refills are a great replacement for the fast-wearing HB leads; they write almost as darkly and they don't break as often. Recently I dropped the pencil and the tip bent badly enough that it doesn't write as well anymore (and somehow the blue accent at the bottom of the pencil disappeared...). More incentive to invent a sliding tip for this model, but I've gotten so enamored with the newfound ability to write huge amounts of data on a 1.5 X 2" post-it note that I ordered 3 more of the model. Still wish it came in red... Otherwise, great purchase, again.
