Is there a way to push the cord up** A: I am having the same problem. The instruction book that came with the edger shows the wire you are referring to be an inch or two long, meaning it would easily fit so the tubes could be fitted together. The edger sent to me came with a wire about 5 inches long. The wire could not be forced into place and even if it could be I do not think forcing the wire into the tubes is a satisfactory solution, Doing so may cause damage. I called the phone number on the instruction manual and spoke to a nice guy who was no help at all. He was not familiar with the product. He did not have a copy of the manual and that made it hard for him to picture the issue. He referred me to another number he said would be better able top help. Using that number I reached a repair shop for many types of tools. The man I spoke to sounded annoyed that I had his number and told me they did not work anything with the Craftsman name on it. Three people with the same problem sounds like poor quality control to me. I demand a well edged lawn and used a gas unit that had continuous issues with a bad float / carburetor. I had to shell out $100s in repairs numerous times. I was done with that gas machine. So I bought the Crafstman edger. I have many other craftsman tools and am a huge fan of the brand and quality. Charged up the batteries after delivery, and went to town on sidewalks, landscaping bricks and lawn edging. I was amazed how powerful it was and so easy to use. The second battery is awesome if you have a lot of edging like me! Never worry about not completing the job. The bonus is the tiny amount of space it takes up in my garage. Tucks away easily into a corner. Love this machine!
