Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Purple Collar for Cats

Ensure you clean your cat of all fleas before you put the collar on. If the cat is heavy flea infested already its not expected to be as effective. The only issue I feel is a strong fragrance which is good for me but I am not sure how the cat is dealing with it.

This collar is soft and supple, and has a nice mild fragrance. The breakaway feature works, as my outdoor cat has lost one on a tree branch. The price is a real bargain at about 50 cents a month. The collar works, as I find dead fleas when I comb, but there are still live fleas present. Some types of flea drops work better than the collar, but they are very expensive. I leave the collar on full time, and occasionally use flea drops in the summer when fleas are at their worst.

I have used these flea and tick collars on my cats for years. They have always been effective in keeping our home flea and tick free while having cats who are mainly indoors but they do go outside. The product states that they will last up to seven months, but I usually replace them several months before they expire. Mainly because I don’t want their effectiveness to lapse and have issues with fleas or ticks. I recommend using disposable gloves when you put these on your cats.

They work, they really work. Ticks or fleas they're dead. The time line is great. I have only one cat, but five live in the house. It's almost impossible to find something for all of them but these collars did it. And it's not easy for any of them to break.

I recently saw that 2 of my outdoor kitties had tick infestations (like 30 baby ticks) on their face and ear area. I was very skeptical about getting such a cheap product but I would 100 percent buy it again for ticks. It took about 2 or 3 weeks for the ticks to clear. But they haven't come back! Very impressed
