Potassium Iodide 130mg Capsules - 3 Bottles - 180 Count - Dietary Supplement for Thyroid Support and Protection Review: Hope I never have to use these - The American Thyroid Association, has stated that it is “essential that enough KI be available to protect the public, especially children, in the event of a nuclear accident or radiological terrorism.” The American Academy of Pediatrics found that “KI can be 100% effective in preventing radiation-induced effects, including thyroid cancer…[which] is the reason it should be kept in homes, schools, and day care centers,” and it is recommended by the World Health Organization and numerous other groups. KI protects the thyroid against exposure to I-131, especially for those under the age of 40. According to the CDC, a child who weighs under 150lb should take a daily 65mg dose; An adult dose is 130mg (which happens to be the exact concentration of this product). It would probably have to be ground up and mixed in a smoothie or juice for most kids. Potassium Iodide /KI is not "RadAway". It only works in a very limited scenario. Nplate is what the alphabet soup agencies stock up on to treat acute radiation sickness (ARS) in adult and pediatric patients, but at this point is not widely available. There are many people who poo-poo stocking up on potasium-iodide. These are usually the same people who believe in just giving up if the worst were to occur. Unfortunately this defeatists line of thinking is why there aren't fallout shelters or even a modicum of civil defense preparedness for the civilian population in the US (unlike the rest of the first world). Potassium iodide is cheap, effective and proven to be safe. This dietary supplement might save someone's life. What do you have to lose by having it sit on a shelf for "just in case"? You never know
Why not? They’re cheap and presumably they work. If we ever have a radiation event and they don’t save my life I’ll return and remove stars.

Best value for the money.
God willing we’ll NEVER need this! Purchased for a SHTF scenario. However, if you live close to any nuclear power plants it’s a good thing to have on hand. 🦋Lily🦋

Don't follow "Testament"
Remember the movie "Testament" from 1983? Yeah, do the opposite of what everyone in that movie does. In the case of nuclear fallout, take potassium iodide and wear a freak'n mask! These pills are just as good as any other potassium iodide pill.

Let's hope we never need this....
The main reason that a prepper might need potassium iodide is to overload your system with NON-radioactive iodine, so that you're less likely to pick up radioactive iodine in the aftermath of a nearby nuclear explosion. I bought this when Russia started talking about "limited" use of nukes in Ukraine, and I pray that I never need to take any of it.

radiation pills
I did not rate the swallow or the taste...... because as far as I know, no nuclear danger is at hand. But, as soon as they drop the big one, I will let you know. If this site even works. lol
