I have been working as a CNA at a nursing home community for about 3 months. Although I was given a gait belt when I started, I misplaced it. I checked Amazon and decided on this belt. I have now had it a little over a month and I am really pleased with it. I like the color and the length is great. (It is a least a foot longer than the one I received when I started.) The buckle is functional and easy to use. It is made of metal and not some cheap plastic. The belt is easy to grip. It is sturdy and strong and helps me lift my residents with much more ease. (It is really is a back and body saver for both parties.) My favorite part of the belt is a very small detail that I have not seen on similiar belts. An extra fabric loop that is slightly stretchy (yet not flimsy) and moves down the belt in order to keep the strap from falling. It reduces the need to tuck the belt on most people while using the restroom. Overall, I really like this belt. It works great and helps both the resident and myself feel better about transferring them from place to place. I liked it so much that I didn't bother looking for the other one.

This fair belt is durable and easy to use, and the black color is a good neutral. I only wish it came in a shorter length, so that I don’t have to wrap the excess length to get it out of the way.

I am a physical therapist assistant and work in a nursing home. we use gait belts with every patient. I have had this particular one for a little over a year now. So, 5-10 patients a day, 5 days a week for a year. that's a lot of uses. I have experienced no fraying. The shiny plating on the buckle is starting to wear off but structurally sound. when i wash it, I put it in a laundry bag. I put it in the dryer on low, too. i have purchased other brands on amazon and by this many uses they start to fray from the repetitive gliding through the buckle. what i don't like...upon unpackaging, there were some edges on the buckle that were a little sharp. i took a file and rounded them out. to be fair, my previous belts had the same issue. i was concerned about the longevity of the cotton webbing rubbing against the not so smooth edges, not so much about injury. but I'm super picky about stuff like that. that's why i give 4 stars rather than 5. the little elastic ring to hold the excess belt end out of the way is not very useful. i cut it off. don't let that feature be a selling point. you can't go wrong with this one. the price is right and the color hides dirt...although you should be washing it frequently enough to not have that issue. hope this helps some of you out there.

Ordered the belt it came one day earlier in Vive box with instructions, the belt is great heavy quality the therapist that comes also said it was very good purchase for the price. The belt is strong and the teeth lock perfect. Very adjustable to grip and walk with dad.

When the physical therapists came, many times they used the belt I had purchased. They were impressed how well it was made. The gripper on the belt securely stays in place when helping someone walk.
