I did all the troubleshooting online which worked for a small time and then would eventually the keyboard and trackpad would die again. Super easy to install and yes the ribbon is too long but it’s because the OEM ribbon is folded to fit perfectly. I had no issue just slapping the back on the MacBook Pro and screwing it on even with the extra length. I’m sure I’ll have to replace the ribbon again in the future, but for now everything is working again. So happy I could pay $10 and spend 15 minutes to practically get a brand new MacBook again. Saved me so much money. Just make sure you get the right tools to open up your MacBook and you can find a tutorial on YouTube. Super easy, you just unplug the battery (scariest part in my opinion) and remove one plate. The ribbon comes with adhesive as well so you can take it down to the battery just like the OEM.
