It worked for the job needed
I'm writing this review months after I've used and no longer needed this auxilary cord. I needed it for a infant mamaroo thing so I could play something other than what was programmed in it. I couldn't tell if the lousy sound quality was because of the cable or the used mamaroo, so 4 stars. We eventually gave away the infant cradle thing but I'm keeping this cable just in case we rent a car and take a cross country trip.

Great Price, Okay Quality, Bad Shipping Time
Okay, I was able to buy this product to use in my car for only 1.80$ (free shipping)! I knew when buying that the quality probably wouldn't be great, and it's not bad. The Sound Quality is pretty good, but the cable itself is quite flimsy and feels like might break in the near future. But then again, at less than 2$, who really cares? However, the biggest gripe I had with the product was the delivery time. I ordered right after the New Year (which may have caused the delay, understandably) and the product didn't ship until early February, and then wasn't delivered for another 2 1/2 weeks. All that wait for such a little product (which I admittedly was greatly anticipating for some driving entertainment)? I was debating just going to Walmart/Target and spending 8$ on whatever Aux Cable they were selling (same quality).I would buy again at such a low price, but definitely from a different seller or something.

Not Great in the Car
This is definitely not my favorite aux cord I've ever used. It works fine, let's start with that. However, the spooling mechanism is actually extremely inconvenient for me. It makes it very difficult to use without ripping out of one of the ports.I think if you're getting it as a cord to keep in your bag or something and use every once in a while for short distance uses then it's awesome, but for me in the car I did not like the spooling. It's just about how you're going to use it. Ultimately it's function is as an aux cord and it works just fine for that so just think about what you're planning on using it for.

Really convenient but they wear out pretty quickly
I have used these retractable aux cables for years. I love them in the car and for travel. I have one in every purse! They do not last very long with daily use, however. Maybe 6-8 months. If only used infrequently, it would last a lot longer. After several months, the cord won't retract as well. You have start pulling it all the way out and reclicking to get it to retract. Also, the connectability starts to break down. After a few months of daily use, I find myself having to rotate and jiggle the connector to get a good stereo connection. After awhile, no matter what I do, I cannot get a connection. The cable is very thin and I think the wires inside just break down. These are also not kid proof. Any toddler who gets ahold of it with one hard pull would probably break the winding mechanism inside. This has happened to several of mine.

Works very well in our ram for the ipod
I really like the price and the product. Although the leads can tangle if you take it out of the wheel to fast, or release the lead to retract, all in all it is a good product. It hides always inside the console box and allows the Uconnect to work automatically through the radio. We just leave it alone inside the console box.

Pretty solid cable
This cable was great, for about 4 months. It was used to connect my phone to my car so that I could listen to my pandora stations while driving, which was a wonderful feature. The downside is that because it's on a wheel that extends the cord, it also retracts the cord, sometimes to a tension point. After a month or two the wheel no longer locked into positions that prevented the tension effect, I'm unsure if this was just wear and tear as I used it pretty much every day, or if it was a flawed product in itself. Eventually the tension from the wheel attempting to retract the cord, as it no longer had a locking point, broke one of the internal wires. I know that this is what happened because I've had headphones in the past that the wire broke and you end up having to spin the jack around to find a sweet spot where the audio actually feeds properly, otherwise you end up with mono sound, which is dreadfully poor audio quality. It was a great item while it lasted, however I would recommend going with a normal cord, rather than the extension device, that way you don't have to worry about any sort of tension from the cord being pulled too tightly.

Works great after giving it a "trash treatment". WORTH BUYING!
When I saw the reviews about how people reported having a faulty product, I still wasn't convinced because I know some people just love to complain about things breaking on them and being a pain in the butt when it should really be how they abuse the product for it to malfunction so soon in the product's life. I ordered this product and have been using it for a month now. No problems whatsoever. My mom even "pulled" it out of the socket when she was borrowing my car. She doesn't know how to properly take out stuff like this, so I thought this was going to be a game over, but instead, it still works. I crumple the wires, I bend them to creasing point, and I don't follow the instructions of "pulling both ways" to detract the wires... no matter how much I abuse it, it's still going fine. BEST VALUE!

Works as advertised! Had no issues and no cord mess!
Worked great and keeps the cord mess down in my car! The only con is for my Jeep- this distance is about 6 inches too short to let someone in the back seat control the music. The cord when fully extended goes about to the end of the center console and the back seat passengers have to keep their phone on the console when plugged into the AUX cord. As for front seat DJ's both the driver and passenger have plenty of cord length. Highly recommend if you want to have an AUX cord available without the long cord mess!
