## Description

Product Description Enhance your photography and video with the Tiffen 72mm Circular Polarizer (CPL) Filter, designed to reduce glare and reflections while delivering richer color, improved contrast, and sharper overall image quality. Ideal for landscape photography, travel, outdoor shooting, and filmmaking, this essential camera lens filter helps create clearer, more vibrant images directly in-camera. The CPL filter minimizes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water, glass, snow, and wet surfaces, making it easier to capture natural detail and improved clarity in bright outdoor conditions. It also deepens blue skies, enhances cloud definition, and boosts color saturation without affecting the natural color balance of your image. The smooth rotating ring allows you to quickly adjust the level of polarization while shooting, giving you precise control over reflections and light based on your angle to the sun. The effect is visible directly through the viewfinder for fast, accurate adjustments in changing lighting conditions.Built with an ultra-slim wide-angle frame, the filter helps reduce the risk of vignetting on wide and ultra-wide lenses while maintaining edge-to-edge sharpness and optical performance.Trusted by photographers and filmmakers, a circular polarizer is one of the most versatile filters you can carry for outdoor photography and video, helping you achieve more professional-looking results in a wide range of shooting environments. desertcart.com A circular polarizer has the same effect as a polarizer and is used on cameras with beam- splitting metering systems commonly found on autofocus SLRs.

Review: Works great! - This filter just makes the sky blue, the water reflecting clearer. A very good polarizing filter!
Review: Does exactly what I expected! - I have had many polarizers over the years. I have used filters such as this for over 25 years. I like the Tiffen as it is not too dark for most uses. I keep it on for almost every shot (unless it is night time or quite dark) to protect my lenses and for it's mild polarizing effect. (I take 1000s of images on a shoot, mostly landscape) Some other brands are too dark to do this. The dark ones many times look too polarized, and post processing has to take much of this out anyway. I do have a few of these and use them occasionally. I have found that an image that is properly balanced that does not need too much darkening or lightening post processing is much better, I have a Hoya but it is always falling apart (and way too dark). I have Heliopan 77mm Circular Polarizer Lens Filters and like the quality, but again they are too dark to keep on all the time. The Heliopan is the one I keep for special uses when I want more polarizing effects than I get with the Tiffen. The Tiffen polarizers I have had only were replaced when they became too scratched for use, broken from being dropped or run into things, or lost over board in my boat. As I said a couple of Hoya ones were replaced because they fell apart. I use a Canon 5D with all high end L series lenses (most costing well over $1000.00) and have sold over 1300 framed GiClees ($300-$800 each). I feel that this filter does not compromise the quality of my images. So in review. I don't want an unnatural appearance due to my filters. I do want the pleasing effects I can achieve with the Tiffen filter. I have never had a problem with any I had purchased, so recommend them to others. And I will continue to use them myself. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tiffen (52mm) Circular Polarizer Gets it Done
*by Y***H on January 17, 2012*

So I dont even have a DSLR. I have a type of Lumix (FZ47) which is one solid unit, but the 52mm lens is threaded for filter use (Hooray!). With Auto-Focus and Manual-Focus capability, my camera has not been affected by the circular polarizer in any of its Focus capabilities. The Circular Polarizer threads onto my lens in One & a Half rotations, and it stays quite solidly on. Now, what the Circular Polarizer is is a two part filter, with one part which screws onto the threads and stays put, and another part which you rotate in the space of quarter turns to change its orientation towards light sources, thus blocking out glare from different directions. I believe this Tiffen (52mm) Circular Polarizer performs as it should. I usually leave it on when on shoots (day-hikes) and never have need to take it off when in light environments. It only dims the incoming light as much as a weak pair of sunglasses would do so. It deepens colours and plain & simply reduces the whitish glare which plagued my nature shots. I find that the level of polarization is spot-on, and I plan to upload a few plain comparison shots in the photos section. I tend to rotate it in the same direction as I screwed it into the threads, because it has, when I was rotating the front element, begun to unscrew the filter base itself; but this is no big problem. It would be hard for me to describe how well the polarization works on all different kinds of situations, mainly because it seems to work in so many, and admirably too. All in all, the filter rotates smooth, polarizes well, fits neatly in the included filter case (I put in a microfiber cloth to keep it from jangling about), and is an easy on & off everyday filter. This is a filter which can't be simulated, as many colour type ones can by internal settings like White-Balance and Colour-Bracketing. I only have needed one filter, a Circular Polarizer, and this model is the one I prefer to use. It was shipped Brand-New to me, came clean and rotating smooth, and that's all!
