I have used/ installed several of these both in pre-fit and grind to fit versions. They definitely work much better than most factory original pads and better than other aftermarket pads that I've tried. Well worth the cost. I've helped shooting buddies install these, and reducing felt recoil makes shooting more enjoyable, especially for smaller, older or younger shooters and can even reduce flinching, helping accuracy.

It took me about four hours to grind and install this recoil pad on my granddaughters Remington model 760. Once I got the new holes drilled in the stock and the old ones pluged, I mounted the pad and used my one inch belt sander to grind it close, about 1/16 of an inch too large at this point. I then wrapped the stock in a piece of carpet, clamped it in a vice and used a file and a sanding stick to get it closer. Next I removed it from the stock and would file and reinstall to check progress and file again. Finally I finished it by marking high spots with a sharpy while installed and then removing it to sand and file again. I believe it came out perfect. I did not use a jig, instead I carefully used my eye and took my time. Be sure to take it slow it's not hard but it is unforg ving.

These recoil pads are excellent. I highly recommend them to anybody who wants to reduce recoil.

The Pachmeyer butt pads are much easier to grind and make to look nice.

Works as advertised. It is difficult to get a clean finish because the rubber is so soft. Freezing the pad helps but the rubber still "pills". Good pad if you don't mind the less than perfect finish.

This pad is quality made unlike my old LimbSaver pad that turned mushy in a short period of time. Also liked the fact that this pad was very easy to grind and fit perfectly to my stock.

I love the Limbsaver. It was very easy to trim. I did it myself on my husband's grinder when he wasn't home by using the pad off the gun as a template. I finished the precision fit with my battery powered dremel. I watched you tube videos on how others dI'd it which helped. When I was fine tuning it to the stock, I used a plastic painting protector versus any kind of tape. I tried the tape but my dremel on slow speed ripped through the tape with just a sand paper tip. It really stopped most of the recoil because I have rotator cuff problems and now can shoot again without pain. Thank you Limbsaver.

The grind-to-fit pads are a lot more work than a pre-fit, but well worth the effort if no pre-fit matches up. Following the instructions and working slowly on the belt sander produced great results, and the reduction in felt recoil is very good.

This pad is very good, it absorbs the recoil and it is very confortable
