Other than the somewhat limited battery life, this works identically to the controller that came with our Wii U. The OEM has a 1300 mAh replaceable battery. This one has a 800 mAh replaceable battery, but you could swap it if you wanted (Amazon has several for about $13). I don't know how long it actually lasts before needing a recharge, but at least a few hours. One minor issue with this controller is the "vibrator" is wimpier than the OEM. You might ask why I bought 5.. The answer is they really don't last as long as the OEM (which are no longer available). My son and I use these 1-2 hours daily. The CuleedTec last one to two years at that usage. The joysticks, "L" buttons and batteries go, and one motherboard failure.
