Cannot get to power on even with using a power adapter why?

Make sure you are using correct power adapter/ make sure it’s authentic and power adapter says “Yealink” otherwise it’s a cheap knockoff

can we uas 3 units as intercom omly , no outsidt teleco lines used ?

Not directly however you could do it by taking an unused computer and installing a copy of freepbx then setting it up as an isolated exchange with no intertie to the phone system. All you need to do then is have the computer and each of the phones connected to the same network. Youll be able to call between phones and even ring all phones from one. Could conference multiple phones together... Lots of possibilities if you want to be enough of a geek to build your own tiny phone company. I actually do this at home but I have added an outside phone number as well. We can intercom, conference, and transfer calls just like an office phone system. Can even auto forward calls to my cellphone after 3 rings. It's free except for the cost of my outside line from a SIP trunking service.

Does the phone still require batteries if its PoE?

It never uses batteries- Poe means power over Ethernet cable and you must have a switch that gives power over the cable / otherwise there is a power adapter you can buy separately as an accessory……no Yealink phones include a power adapter upon purchase FYI
