Tactical Tanto Machete 19-3/8" Length, Black, 13", One Size

Have rocked a smatchet machete from Cold Steel for a decade. It knifes, it hatchets, it machetes, it rises from its ashes.. My Cold Steel trailmaster and other blades get time off. So I have ignored other Cold Steel Machete/large knife offerings. Until now. Expected this to be a fun, durable, Bush tanto. It is. The guard is of the same steel as the blade and is sized so my hands ( male xl glove size ) can choke up in a pinch. Chopping, stripping, and carving a jo staff was pleasant. Easy to sharpen, decent edge retention. Will cut grasses, vines, thorny crrraaaap, small green wood to about an inch or so depending on skill. Grip and sheath are marginal and easy to customize. Here is my padded oversize grip, my belt loop mod is far too sleazy to share, regrets. If bow or black powder hog hunting would not turn down one of these although not a first pick, not too shabby. Vibration from chopping is no joke unless you electric, duct tape, paracord, then Wilson over grip. Then it's all good. If new to swinging short swords and long knives please respect this blade. Cheap and thin but a serious cutting blade. Not a perfect factory sharpening job, but a very good one and easy to bring to Zen. The yellow tape on haft also helps mute handle shock for me and the lanyard helps me chop accurately.

This Katana machete is impressive. I abused it horribly by cutting up a pile of dried Hardwood Thorn branches. The machete that I used to trim the green wood needed a good deal of filing when I was done. This cold steel South African blade has literally zero edge damage or loss of sharpness after chopping the same wood when dry and even harder. The fittings and handle are very solidly made. This big knife is comfortable to work with and indexes well.

To get started it is a excellent machete has great edge retention and the tsuba makes a good hand guard when using one hand nice balance point low on blade for chopping power I had received this machete today and immediately tested it on my stubborn tree it chops real good and clean but it rusts no matter how dry you get it I received it today and went to work on my return home it has a small rust spot not much else is wrong the handle is a little uncomfortable but not unbearably so so all in all it’s a decent machete for a good price I’d buy it again if I had to

This blade comes very sharp and ready for action. While smaller then it’s wakizashi and Katana machete counter parts this blade has plenty of cutting edge. The sheath is very well made and holds the blade secure. The small hole in the bottom of the handle could easily be used to secure a charm for Personal effect. The molded traditional looking handle is comfortable but I wrapped it in hockey tape to give it a more organic feel. I take mine out every weekend and really beat this thing up. I would recommend this blade to anyone looking too get into cutting exercise or just plain fun.

The steel is good enough (+1). The sheath is usable. The handle rubber grip: Yeah, whatever. The guard is stamped steel and has sharp edges on one end. Unfortunately, the Maf put the sharp end on the user end. Had they put it on the blade end then it would have been a no issue. (-1) However, the blade was bent to the right, quite noticeable and can be confirmed visually. I bent it back straight so OK now. At least the blade did not break during straighening process (sheer force with no heat). (-2) This knife would have gotten a 4-5 star had it come straight out of the box and the stamped guard with its sharp edge facing the tip of the blade.

Gotta be honest I'm a bit of a cold steel fan. If you haven't seen the videos for their warrior Katana series, you should. I own a cold steel kukri already which I also bought on here. I'm a blade thrower as well as a blade enthusiast. The kukri has handle more beating than anything I've ever seen. This machete is amazing quality. The blade isn't thin. The handle is hard and not really slick but I could see how it could become that way if wet. The quality and craftsmanship from cold steel is always impressive and at this price you can't beat it. Holding it, it feels like a short Katana. The tanto blade was sharp all the way to the tip. Not razor mind you, but sharp enough to slice a pumpkin in half without much effort. Very good buy would recommend to anyone.

An excellent small machete! A novel design that is well built and inexpensive. It is shorter than traditional machetes, so it won’t clear brush or vines as efficiently as if it had a longer blade. If you like the looks and want something for light duty cutting, chopping, and slicing then I highly recommend this machete.

Right out of the box the edge was all beat up and there were large metal fur shavings coming off of it. You can see in the photos that the quality of the metal is low grade trash and attempting to sharpen it could not fix the large gouges on the edge. On top of that, there was oil all over the handle and the sheath was completely different than the one in the image - no shoulder strap. This is by far the most disappointing thing I've ever received through amazon. Absolutely non existent quality control from a company that apparently just doesn't care at all? Might as well just send me a barrel full of diarrhea.

Cold Steel non si smentisce mai!!! Una mezza katana machete davvero bella da tenere in mano, il filo non è male, ma si può ravvivare senza problemi, io l'ho fatto, adesso è un rasoio. Acciaio al carbonio 1055 niente male, ed è un Hidden Tang, Spessore lama: 2.80mm. Lunghezza totale 50cm. Da vetrina o da lavoro, a voi la scelta, fodero in Cor-Ex sheath molto resistente. Manico molto solido in Polypropylene, bella presa, ottima la guardia in stile katana. Ad un prezzo cosi basso è un affare, per chi ama le cose esagerate non se lo deve far sfuggire!!! Soddisfatto moltissimo e lo consiglio.

Llego a tiempo Hoja de buen tamaño , algo mas grande que los Bowies o cuchillos grandes . Buen filo y todavía se le puede sacar más con unas pasaditas en el afilador , quedando de miedo. La funda viene como se muestra en los videos de youtube, que para mi gusto fue la mejor opción, (no es la de la imagen ) El mango es de plástico y para algunos puede ser molesto en su agarre , (no es mi caso ) pero se puede mejorar bastante con una cinta willson o alguna otra de su conveniencia.

war überrascht wie stabil sie ist. Die Aufbewahrungstasche ist auch prima und stabil. Schärfe war so ok aber hab sie nass nachgeschliffen.Jetzt muss ich selber aufpassen beim benutzen. Ich hacke damit Fleischwaren zum grillen, habe sogar schon Holz zum grillen damit gehackt. Schneide hatte weder von verschiedenen Knochen noch von dem Holz Macken. Das einzigste ist das man es nach dem reinigen etwas einölen sollte ansonsten setzt leichter Flugrost an. Würde sie mir sofort wieder kaufen

Pacco arrivato 4/9,ben annunciato,ben impaccato. È un ottimo attrezzo di ragguardevole presenza, buon acciaio con discreta affilatura ma che con due passate di bacchetta ceramica è diventato un vero e proprio rasoio. Sembra una mini wakizaki , non ho più un bosco per provare all’opera, ma penso farebbe un buon lavoro. Leggero e pesante quel che basta per una buona maneggevolezza. Un buon acquisto.
