Good Enough and Quick
Good Enough and Quick -- As the song says, "There, I said it again." Grinding coffee with this thing or anything like it is a lot of work, but it feels good. I would never rely on this for daily grinding of more than a cup or two at a time. I can't imagine women would love this thing. Setting it down on the counter is no way to go. I'm no weakling, but this thing is not the easiest to hold on to when you're really cranking on it. I choose to hold it so the bottom edge is resting firmly against my sternum near my solar plexus, and then hold onto its waisted cylindrical shape as high as I can -- up near the handle -- don't cut or scratch yourself with the handle! I wish I could put it in a bench vise and really go to town with it -- yah, sure, you betcha! Anyway, it does a nice job, it adjusts quite nicely, and it is a handsome and durable unit. I think someone is making a good profit at the price it seems to sell, but evidently the demand is there, as they seem to leap off the retailers' shelves briskly, so the market is telling you the value is there vs alternatives. If you're in early times and just starting to dip your foot into grinding, go ahead and get this one. Later, once you're addicted to good coffee, you can always buy a good electric burr grinder that will take you through hell and back. But this little Hario you should always keep for small experimental tasks, and for travel, so I think it is an excellent choice. Just know what you're getting into with these small hand grinders -- they all take the same effort and time to grind up (to fracture predictably and fairly uniformly) these surprisingly hard, tough roasted coffee beans. This Hario is a good one, possibly the standard of the small, ceramic burr hand grinders. I'd buy it again, but only if I lost this one or wore it out (unlikely), as i certainly don't need two . . . yet, that I can think of . . . wait, one in each car, in each camping pack? Hmmm . . . Cheers!

Easy Peasy & delicious brew
I did exhaustive research before I purchased my new coffee grinder. I had a Mr. Coffee electric burr mill grinder for a few years, and it worked great for the price point. But eventually a seal was compromised inside allowing grounds to fall into the interior. I looked at electric & manual models, and tons of reviews to land on this. The Hario is easy peasy. And to frame it out for you - I actually used a mortar and pestle to grind my beans for my single 12 oz cup each morning. (I tried pre-ground, but I had been spoiled with fresh grind. I was willing to work for it.) You are going to need to crank it -yes, and it will take time which will depend on what size grounds you need for your method. I do 3.5 Tbsp of medium coarse for my French press and I finish grinding before the kettle is ready. If you only make a small amount of coffee each day, this grinder is perfect and does a fantastic job. I also love it for travel & camping - easy, quiet, & very compact. I have found that the capacity allows for no more than 4 level Tbsp of beans to be ground at a time. Definitely money well spent.

Good Product
Edit: So I am embarrassed to admit but the problem was resolved. I only had to adjust the knob at the bottom to more coarse. I updated my rating to 4 stars. Regardless, Hario still failed to assists me when I asked for help. Their customer service needs improving. I purchased this Hario coffee grinder because I wanted a quality grinder but on a budget. At first it was what I expected with no problems. After 2 months the it stopped grinding the coffee beans. I turn the mill but it just doesn't grind it as fast any more. It still technically grinds the beans but extremely slowly. I figured this was some sort of defect so I contact Hario through their website. After almost a week I have yet to receive any kind of response. I am very disappointing with this purchase at lost my faith in Hario after hearing good things about them through coffee enthusiasts.

Gets the job done
Totally sufficient making 1 to 2 cups of coffee at a time Grind - deffinitely good for people getting started down the specialty coffee rabbit hole. Not perfect, but pretty darn consistent. Not ideal for proper espresso or super coarse grinds. But good at everything in between. Use - easy to use. Pretty intuitive. Takes a little trial and error to get your ideal grind size but that goes with everything. Fits in the hands nice Travel - It’s plastic so it’s light weight but it might. E easy to break. But small enough to fit in a bag to keep safe. The handle doesn’t nest with it but again super small to fit in a bag. Cleaning - not great but no worse than any other grinder. It’s a ceramic burr so I let it dry completely before reconstruction. I looked at dozens of grinders and some way more expensive than this, but pulled the trigger on this one with no regrets. Happy with the purchase because it gets the job done really well
