Until recently, I had not seen the need for a fish spatula. Now I get it. This spatula is much better than a standard spatula at getting under - and lifting cleanly - whatever I am frying. This is because of its design - a slightly bent and flexible yet strong blade, along with a sharp leading edge. The nonslip handle and light weight make it easy to control. This is a real plus when handling delicate items. I find there is nothing lacking with the performance and utility of this spatula. So, at just under $20, the Misen spatula is a real value.

Very useful tool and works great!

I was looking for a spatula to get under and lift food from my dual, non-stick airfryer which is a tight space. Regular silicone spatulas were not flexible enough. Gave this a try, and it is absolutely perfect. The silicone handle makes it easy to grip and the silicone edge keeps it from scratching my airfryer and my non-stick pans. The aluminum makes it a bit flexible to get under the food in a tight space. It's resilient to high temperatures without getting damaged. I do not put it in the dishwasher, but it cleans nicely by hand, although it says dishwasher safe. After using mine for awhile, I purchased another one to make sure I always have my Misen.

Works really well with no worry of damaging my ceramic nonstick pans.

I purchased this for my son in college. THIS is the FAVORITE of cooking spatulas in their house. When I used cooking french toast, it glides on ceramic coated frying pans. Now, I've ordered one for myself and am looking forward to having my own.

Don't let the name fool you, this spatula is good for much more than turning fish. This is pretty much my go to spatula when frying. Its size and shape allow you to more easily get underneath foods in your frying pan to shift and turn them. The slots are far enough apart to allow allow drainage, but close enough together to flip most foods. I love the silicon edge. It allows me to use it on non-stick coatings without worry, and with the curved edges I can easily scrape food from the sides of the pan. I was a little worried about the silicon around the edges - how well it would hold up - but so far it has held up well. One thing that this spatula does NOT do well is scrape stuck-on food, but for that I'll use nylon or wood.

Use it for more than fish. Flexible and sturdy.

As recommended by America's Test Kitchen, this fish spatula has all the right features. It's smaller than others making it better for maneuvering. The diagonal leading edge has a thin thickness to allow easier access between the pan and food, The rest of the lower part is longer and is strong and stiff enough to enable lifting heavier foods. The handle is comfortable and nonslip, and is the right length to easily hold the spatula but not so long as to get in the way when using it in a deeper pan. Note that this particular version *does not* have the silicone covering on the leading edge, so if it's used with a nonstick coating pan, it needs to be used with low aggression so as to not damage the coating. There is a similar item with a silicone covering, but I would expect it wouldn't be as effective at getting between the pan and food, or that the silicone may become damaged over time. However, that's an opinion without direct experience.

The silicone around the edges doesn't stay on. This happened after only a few uses. Should have returned this. Would not recommend.
