Seems to work good doesn't color the tone much just adds some gain.like a boost, it helps get my Marshall origin 20 Plexi style tube amp into overdrive without diming the volume because it still gets pretty loud with dimed volume and gain you need for full distortion even on the lowest power setting.

It's a sick pedal. I wanted a Dumble-style transparent-ish overdrive and this satisfies me completely. Definitely an "SRV Texas Flood" type of sound. Full, big, broad, chunky, dynamic, transparent. Kind of like an ice pick hitting a gong lol. Got that sharp, spacious-sounding attack with a big thrum behind it. The filter knob works great, very usable. It is a VERY gentle, clear overdrive; almost halfway between an overdrive and a boost. Nothing like a Tube Screamer. Dimed out with low-output pickups, this pedal is still in "crunch" territory. This needs hot pickups to really tear the sound apart. I love the dynamic range of the gain knob, and the pedal leaves a lot of headroom to stack with other effects. The pedal shines thru an amp or drive with tube-style breakup. The clipping blends with the breakup into a complex, wavering texture. There are a few great videos of this pedal on YouTube if you need to hear it. I heard that this circuit is a clone of the Vertex Steel String Clean Drive. The boutique heritage shows. The sounds are amazing, and the controls are responsive. Seems built well. Power jack is on the left which sucks, my only criticism. Got a blue light on it.

Overdrives are to guitar players like nail polish for my daughter. There are a million different ones, and everyone has an opinion. Here’s mine. For the money this is a great warm EOB drive pedal. Think MXR Timmy, soul food, etc. not a face melter. Not even close. The gain warms it up to a medium boil at best The volume seems to add more and more compression in front of the gain once you get past 12. It’s nice. The filter puts a boost on a high mid frequency. Not like a tube screamer or the boost switch on a soul food, It’s higher. Almost like a presence control. At the end of the day I concluded that I have several other pedals that could achieve the one setting that I really liked on this pedal. That said, the build quality is fantastic, and these cheap knock off pedals really are great if you can find the right ones. I’ve liked other Caline pedals I’ve had, but this one didn’t work for me.

A dumble sound at a great price

Great pedal. Sounds great. On it's own it has a great tone that once I dialed in to exactly where I liked, I can't get out of my amp or any of my other drives or distortions. But, it has one of the dumbest power input locations I've ever seen. Why in the world it is on the left side, just next to the output jack, instead of at the top, is beyond me. Terrible because it means it takes an extra half inch or so on my board, which means I can't fit my tuner on the board now without even more rearranging. It seems minor, but such an inconvenience really does make me reconsider putting on a pedalboard, especially a smaller one like a Nano +.

This instantly became my new favorite pedal. I use it as a clean boost on lower gain settings, but I mainly leave the gain almost all the way up for a perfect slightly restrained overdrive sound. It really highlights the sound of your guitar and amp while adding some classic overdriven breakup and flavor

Wasn't sure what to expect from this one, but I had heard great things on the Internet, and for $35 the risk was low. This is now an "always-on" pedal for me. I use it for a slight boost and I love the color it gives my tone. To be honest, I could probably get a lot more out of the pedal if I were to play around with the knobs a bit more, but here are the settings I've settled into: Volume: 1:00 Filter: 8:00 Gain: 11:30

It’s a low gain overdrive that works similarly to a fumble style pedal. It’s okay as a solo boost but I don’t find as use for it beyond that.

Very impressed with this pedal. I saw it on the JHS YouTube channel where Josh gave it a good review. It thicken and improves the quality of the sound. I'm only using a 15w Orange Amp but you can hear an improvement in the sound quality. The pedals boosts the sound too but doesn't push to overdrive to distortion levels. You have good control over the attack sound with your picking hand and how hard you attack the strings. Finally, it looks cool with the purple ghosts on it.

I got this because I just loved the picture on it lol. I wasn't expecting much. But when I tried it out, I really liked it! It's a light gain overdrive and definitely a great "always on" pedal at the beginning of your pedal chain. Thickens things up and makes it a little tastier
