Awesome Wi Fi cell phone case
I got this for snorkeling and so far it's working. The Wi-Fi was easy to set up and I've had it only down to 5ft so far. Next month I'm headed to Curaçao for a few days of diving and snorkeling. I will only be used for snorkeling. If I have something bad to add I will update this review.

Absolutely not!
I went to Daytona Beach, Florida and wanted an absolutely air-tight case so I could take photos of the waves. First of all, the battery that came with the bluetooth controller was dead. There's where the first fight came in. They provide you with a screwdriver which would be okay if I was a Smurf. Also, it'd be helpful if the screws actually TURNED and you could remove them without destroying the waterproof controller. Second of all, your phone will overheat. I don't mean a little overheat, I mean overheat to the point of the camera turning your photos into newsprint, and I'm not exaggerating. The phone was sweating when I took it out of the case. In other words, not air-tight, and some moisture got into the case. I'm completely disgusted.

Water tight. Remote works.
The QR code in the instructions doesn't work. The app shellbox cn site is down for everyone according to isitdownrightnow. For android get shellboxcamera from the play store. It's the same app as shown in the product video and works with the remote.You have to hold the small power button on the remote for 5 seconds and there's a blinking LED to indicate pairing mode. Pair Shellbox to the remote with your phone's Bluetooth settings.My Samsung A53 fit fine without a case. There's suction cups to hold the phone tight and they hold well. If they held any tighter the thin plastic frame would break trying to remove the phone. The plastic frame has a tab to help you pull it from the case but it's a one-time use section of tape. This really needs to be a real tab because it's handy to pull the phone out after use.The app has some issues. There's a couple of timers but they count down immediately. It's funny seeing the 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 on the screen flash by in about a half second.The touch screen on the phone is almost usable with the case. My phone is thin so it's far from the plastic and I have to press really really hard to get the screen controls to work.There's just one screw to seal the case. It's a small metal knurled knob. It's not friendly. The case is water tight. I tested shallow to start but it holds at 15 feet without crushing. I was just freediving and the water here isn't that deep.The remote is fair but it's Bluetooth so 2.4GHz. Physics limits RF distance to near zero. That same physics is how microwave ovens work. So if microwave ovens work in your universe, Bluetooth won't work underwater. This remote does work underwater when mounted to the case. It can sometimes trigger a photo from about 5 inches away underwater. That's it.The app needs lots of work. There's a wheel to select things like the timer, flash, 3:4 or 6:9, rapid fire mode that is nearly impossible to use inside the case no matter how close the phone is to the plastic. There's no way to manipulate this menu with the remote.With the flash turned on in the app I was able to take one totally washed out photo underwater. After that the flash no longer worked. You pretty much can't use the flash in any universal case at any time because it reflects back into the lens. Same with the light. Just use your dive light.The remote works with the native camera app but only to trigger the shutter. None of the other remote buttons do anything.The case held tight for my under water test. The app kept my phone awake and in the shellboxcamera app for the whole time. My phone was warm after 30 minutes but not hot. The Bluetooth remote went to sleep on me several times. When I thought the phone wasn't responding it was because the remote was asleep. It's hard to tell with the app if the remote triggered a photo. There's a small icon that disappears for a second when a photo happens.There may be a way to turn your phone on and off using some sort of knock app but I don't have that on my phone. Without using special apps, the only way to use this case is to turn your phone on and turn on this app before inserting it into the case. There is nothing to engage a power button.They give you a screw driver and a replacement CR2032 battery for the remote. They even provide some extra tiny screws to lose immediately. There's a lanyard that looks like a survival bracelet made of paracord.The remote is held into the case with a magnet. It's not hard to remove but does take a fingernail. I wish it had a little tab instead. The remote did not fall out of the case no matter how much I knocked it around. I didn't hammer it on the ground because that would be unreasonable.The case is plastic and watertight but I wouldn't drop it. The plastic feels rigid and there's no rubber around any of the edges. A drop will likely protect your phone but crack the case.Since it's water tight and does the job I'm giving this 5 stars. It's not perfect but I'm sure the app will improve or someone will write a better one. It's hard to find a decent case for those of us without flagship phones. This one is fairly universal.

NO SUPPORT, I rate products based on the service they offer
I would having given a much higher rating is the organization had support. The product it self is great, but once you have an issue no possibility to get help. THe bluetooth module needed baterie to be replace and noway to open the part. I do not care where a product comes from but organization need to support there product.

Definitely water proof for snorkeling, but sometimes the screen changes away from the camera app.
When the camera is setup just right and the hard buttons on your phone aren't being pressed against, then the camera will stay on the case vendor's camera app and works great with the case's buttons are are linked to your phone via Bluetooth. But if your phone is a little bigger and rubs up against the case, your camera buttons will press and change away from the camera app which means you need to dry the case and remove your phone in order to navigate back to the camera app (i.e. you can't access your phone's touchscreen while in the case). Need to remove your camera case to fit in. Was definitely 100% waterproof the few days we used it. Just make sure there's no sand along the seal when you close it. Thumb screw enables you to secure it down tightly with no fear that you would accidently unlatch it. Button's allows you to take pictures, video, zoom and swap between front/back cameras. Camera is secured to center of case by suction cups on a tray that you secure the camera onto and slide into the case. It generally holds pretty good, but again some phones may be too big and their buttons touches the case.

No more janky soft membrane touch screen!
I've got a different brand case that looks similar to this one, but it has a soft membrane panel that goes over the touch screen for phone navigation via the touch screen. That feels really weird and works OK some times, and not so good other times. So, when i saw that this case uses a bluetooth controller to take pics and video instead, I was pretty excited and requested one for review.So far, everything I've tested has been smooth sailing.- My iPhone Xr fits fine and was easy to install- I did a leak test with the case submerged in my sink for over an hour with a paper towel inside. The paper towel came out dry.- The safety strap is robust, to say the least.- The app installed easily and worked the first time I tried it with zero drama. taking a picture, swapping front to back camera, taking a video. All worked as they should using just the bluetooth buttons.I love that the case has a 1/4-20 threaded mount on the bottom for tripod mounting.I haven't ran into anything that caused me concern.Based on initial testing, I am likely to take this case next time i take my Sea Scouts sailing, since I am the master at capsizintg sailboats.

Junk do not buy
Junk does not fit iPhone pro plus, not wide enough to fit in. Remote will only take a picture no other function work. Don’t waste your time or money seller will not even pay returns on a product that doesn’t fit or work!!!
