For a few months, the Petwant worked for me. But then it started sending me messages that there was no food in it, when there was plenty of food in it. So I started using the video function to see if it was actually feeding my cat while I was at work. I would tune in just before the 5pm feed time and sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, and sometimes it just spit out a few pieces of kibble that my cat gobbled down in about ten seconds. I worked from home a few times to see what it was doing and, sure enough, it was completely unreliable. The machine made some noise that had the cat running over, but no food came out.The last thing you want in an automatic, remote, pet feeder is to question whether or not it's working. Being unreliable is not an option. Thankfully, Amazon was willing to take this back. The limited amount of instructions and written material that came with this product was in very poor English and the only way to contact them was to make a phone call to Shenzhen, China. (They had a street address, if you wanted to write them.) The app was difficult to get started and was not always reliable either. But despite these other problems the most critical was that the thing is unreliable. You simply don't know if it's going to feed your pet. That should be enough info for you to select another device. Similarly, stay away from the feeders that look just like the Petwant. They're all the same materials, machine, and technology.
