ok, so, I was expecting great things. I've heard good things about yaoi press, I've heard good things about Yamila Abraham. There were several 5-star reviews. So I was excited to get this book.NON-SPOILER CRITIQUE:The story was blah. Things moved to fast. (as admitted even by the characters themselves.) So many panels per page that while the art was decent, there was never any good detailed shots. Even the cover is lack-luster, and for the title, there was no "punishment" for the main characters. Not for crimes committed. Not in sexy ways unless you count the very last page, which I don't. Last time I spend money on a yaoi press book, especially since it says on the cover that its their "strongest work to date!" Very disappointing.***SPOILER ALERT***Both characters were immediately unlikeable to me. You have a guy who murders a prostitute, gets off scott free, then goes back to his day job where he punishes others for lesser crimes? This is a likeable character how? Then you have an entire world of people that are all extremely racist save for 2 characters. (the boss and the aforementioned murderer)There's logic missing all over the book. Like why the new guy who is hated by everyone, and has never said one way or another what his education experience is, is more qualified to take over the boss' position when he retires than every other person there?To make Fang less likeable you quickly learn his nice guy act is hiding the fact he's a rapist.Then just to bring things full circle the book ends with yet another murder gotten away with.I guess all that is ok though, because "mm! Yaoi!" -rolls eyes-

This was a very bizarre little read, I had no idea what was going on in the beginning, but I am glad I stuck it out. While this will not be for everyone, but I tend to have a darker sense of humor. To me, this was pretty good, and I would read another.

I enjoyed this manga. It presents a very interesting idea and the smut contained is beautifully done. It was a bit darker than I expected, but it actually worked very well for the story itself. I do think that the story progressed a little too quickly, there could have been more character/plot development, but overall it was enjoyable.
