This thing is real.
After five months of use I can safely say this projector is the real deal.I was looking for something affordable with native 1080p resolution, and this one fills that need almost perfectly. I'm not very interested in screen mirroring, 5G Wi-Fi, bluetooth, or even the OS or home screen they drone on about in the product details.. I just wanted a large picture in high resolution to go with my Roku and HDMI 5.1 audio splitter for my surround sound system to create a home theater in my basement. But then I need to mention throw distance.. I actually posted a question here asking what size the picture would be with a screen 8 feet away from the projector, but no one answered. Well, once again I had to buy a product in order to find out details that probably should have been mentioned on the sale page to begin with. So, here we go: If your projector lens is 8 feet away from your wall or screen you'll get an 80-inch diagonal picture. 10 feet will be close to 100 inches, and I assume 12 feet will fill a 120-inch screen. Once again that's diagonal in 16:9 aspect ratio, the same measurement they use for pull-down or tack-up screens.I only have 8 feet of throw distance in the room I was planning to use this device, but I want a 100-inch picture. 80 is just too small, so I relegated this projector to the living room while I focus on getting a short-throw model for my basement theater. In the living room it's 10 feet away from a beige wall, and the 100-inch picture is stunning. Also, the sound through the speakers isn't as bad as one might expect from such an inexpensive device. It works well enough until I set up my soundbar and subwoofer in the future.I plugged a 2tb external hard drive into the USB port and discovered it even plays .mp4 files very well. The only complaint I have involves straight projection. At first I had it mounted on a tripod with the lens centered vertically to the screen. That worked great without the need for keystone adjustments, but it wasn't much higher than the back of a chair.Other projectors broadcast at an upward angle, like from a tabletop, so when they're mounted high on the wall (upside-down), the downward angle minimizes blocking from people moving around on the furniture. When my wall mount arrived I placed the Sovboi about 2 feet higher, and then had to use the keystone settings for correction. Well, keystone adjustments decrease the overall picture size. Instead of a roughly 110-inch picture I'm getting right about 100, which is still acceptable.Hey, for less than $200 (with coupon discount) I'm more than happy with this purchase.*This was NOT part of a promotion.*

Great starting projectror!
Pro/Con at bottom: Overall would recommend.Purchase Price: $236.99 USD (Prime Day Deal)As someone who primarily plays video games/streams shows on a 4k monitor. I was wanting something more easy to access while laying down. Wanting to avoid being chained to my desk while trying to watch the whole Marvel catalogue on Disney Plus for the third time over. Without the room to justify squeezing in a whole new TV, but a blank wall, I wanted to see what a projector might do.My whole family and I love going to the movies, so nothing beats the feeling of the Big Screen. In an attempt to bring the experience home, as a first time projector, this is the one I would recommend. No it's not 4k 60fps with enough pixels to evaporate my corneas like I prefer, but this is such a fun machine to use and watch movies/TV on.This is my first projector and I have honestly loved it. It was easy to set up, the remote controller is nice, built in speakers are loud enough to fill my room. I have the projector connected to my PS5 and I haven't tried too much gaming on it (That 4k monitor that melts my corneas is reserved for that) but honestly as a portable TV replacement and for the huge screen you get its honestly worth it.I have a relatively small room, with the projector about 8.75 ft from the wall. Having the bedroom lights on of course dims the picture a bit, so best with the lights off, but still visible if you don't have much of a choice. I'm still playing around with the dynamic Keystone, Focus, and Zoom options to best suit my room. But, experimenting and personalizing these things for yourself is half the fun anyway. Without a screen, my white walls cause just a smidge of glare. So once I have a proper screen I'm sure my already 9/10 experience will be a 10/10.Cheers if you made it this far.Pros:-Easy Set up (plug and play)-Good speakers-Lots of options with the keystone and video settings-Great for kids/families-Fantastic Budget/Beginner projector (God bless prime day)Cons:-Beginner projector so best to watch with the lights off/dark environment-Amazon order doesn't come with a free screen.-A bit of glare on white walls (probably more user error than on the projector itself).-Screen mirroring is a bit laggy with my iPhone 13 (once again probably user error, I have at least a dozen things on my WiFi at any given time).

I wanted to love this, but the sound...
I did a lot of research on affordable projectors for outdoor movie nights and bought this one based on the reviews of not only the picture quality, but the sound quality as well. Reviews mentioned that you don't even need an external speaker and that the sound from the unit itself was surprisingly good. Ours arrived and we set it up and yes, picture quality is great - everything that other reviewers said. But the sound coming from the internal speakers was dismal. You could barely hear it unless you were sitting near the projector and that was with the volume all the way up. We connected our external speaker via Bluetooth, which was easy to do, and while the sound obviously improved, the sound wasn't as loud as that speaker normally is. So we figured maybe we got a defective unit. We returned it and ordered another. When it arrived, same issue. Sound is just crappy and that would be fine if that's what I was expecting, but the product's own description says that the sound is so good you can "feel like the action on the screen is happening all around you". Nope, sorry. Not even close. So we returned the second unit and decided to go with another. 3 stars because picture quality is excellent, it's fairly easy to use, carrying case is great, but sound quality just killed it. At least for us.Edited to add: Nacy from Sovboi Customer Care reached out to me with some instructions on sound settings. They were very helpful to send screen shots, etc. so we are going to give it another try. Updated star rating due to customer service response. If you are having issues, definitely reach out to customer service - they are very helpful.
