This tool actually works.
These are expensive but well worth the money. These are lightweight aluminum alloy and very sturdy. Simple looking yet very effective. Tight bead on my set of waypoint tires were no match for this tool.

First timer changed tires in my backyard!
Stop reading and just buy them. They do exactly what they are advertised to do. The construction of these tools looks to have had a lot of thought put into it. They are strong and light. I put a tremendous amount of force on them while dismounting my VStroms rear tire and at no time did I feel at risk from them slipping or breaking. The inner bead area on the tire wasn't so much as scratched and as the headline says, this was my first time ever working on my bike. They were plenty long to get the leverage I needed to do the job, but not so long as to get in the way. Also the compact size of these will make it easy to store them on my bike for roadside emergencies. I was really impressed how well the bead break function worked. I wrapped the spoon end with a rag to protect my hands and began working the tool. I chose spots about 4" apart on my rim and just continued to press a little, spot by spot, with a little Windex for lubes, until 1/3 of the way around the bead started slipping down in to the tire. Flipped the tire over and repeated the process. The spoon part did well on gripping the bead and this is where a longer tool might have been an issue. I was able to get the end of tool lower than the bead because the tool was short enough to miss the hub. I also strongly recommend the Motion Pro rim protectors. I used them as a part of this process and had I not, my powder coated mags would have chewed up pretty bed.

Just add to cart, MUST HAVE
Fantastic product works as advertised the bead breaker feature is fantastic, took the work out of dismounting tires. High quality machining and a nice finish to boot. Definite 10/10 product, light enough to go in my gear bag as well. 1st tire change that I didn’t mar up my rims, wish I’d have heard about it years ago.

Exceeded my expectations. Don't bother with Chinese knockoffs.
I didn't know I needed these until I got them. 100% necessary addition to the toolset. They are forged and very solid for their weight. I've seen the Chinese knockoffs of these and they are cast metal with pitting - not what you want when putting down a lot of leverage. I used these to successfully change my first set of DRZ tires. I then felt inspired and tried these on a set of 31" Toyota tires that I needed to separate from the wheels to recycle. These successfully unseated the bead on those as well and I was able to use my car tire spoons from there. Couldn't be more impressed with such a simple tool.

Great bead breaker. Not enough leverage.
These are my first tire spoons. I have never tried to remove or install tires before. Bought these for the bead breaking feature, which worked flawlessly. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have gotten longer tire spoons. Just for reference, I was attempting to remove my 2009 Sportster's front tires (Metzler 880). Removing the tire from the wheel was easy enough. Installing on the other hand was not. Once you get to the last 1/4 of the tire installation, you run into the weak point of the spoons. They are just too short to get any leverage. I had to get my girlfriend's help to complete the job. Side note. I have heard that Metzlers have one of if not the hardest sidewalls. Making it more difficult to install. Pros: Bead breaker Lightweight Cons: Not long enough (not enough leverage)

Work very well, even for a large off road tire
These are very high quality and very light weight at the same time. With proper technique I was able to get two big, relatively stiff off road tires off the bead of my R1200GSA wheels. I recommend these over the forged steel since they are light enough to carry with you and since they are aluminum, you shouldn't scratch up your wheels quite as much. That said, for difficult tires, you will need three big spoons, but those can be had with rim protectors for around $25. However, these are great for debeading, and removing the tire for softer, radial road tires or dirt bike tires only.

As they say “a life saver”!
It has been a very valuable tool for me. Works great, highly recommend it. Before I had this I literally had to use the kickstand and the weight of the bike to break the bead from the rim.

Bead breaker function not that necessary; good as small tire spoons.
These are short, lightweight tire tools. Their shortness is appropriate to fit in a trail toolkit. There is no other reason not to get the long steel tools that will work much more easily. The lightweight aluminum on these is strong but is no doubt why they're so expensive. The novel bead-breaker function of the levers works well, but is probably not necessary for dirt bike or dual-sport type tires and wheels. Breaking the bead down is not that hard. Keeping the bead in the drop center is harder, but these don't really help with that. On street wheels with radial street tires, the bead breaker might make a big difference -- I haven't tried it. The other end of the tool is a standard tire lever. It's not quite as round as the spoon type. These ends work comparably to the aluminum spoon type from Motion Pro. For a dirt bike's trail kit, I would suggest the 27mm/12-13mm wrench/spoon set (or whatever the axle nut size is for the bike). The 12mm is needed for the bead lock and tire valve stem anyway. Those two spoons are the minimum. I'd also suggest at least one Trail Bead Buddy. I can't think of a drawback to these Bead Pro levers, but since the one end of them is probably not needed, they'll work great but not have a place in a minimalist trail tool kit. For a street bike, I really don't recommend any kind of small tire tool. Have a plug kit on the bike for tubeless tires. Get the big tools for the shop.

Work fine on dirt orientated tyres. Not good on large road tyres.
