haven't tried it on sand. to be clear, the bucket operation is pre-set. there is a single button to operate the arms and the bucket and it that grouping a single pre-set movement. it's max depth is only up to the track level. dry sand should be fine.

We haven't tried it yet because this is running on AA batteries. If you can get the same voltage and convert the battery connector then it should work.
