So let me just start by saying this is another great product by Loving Tan. I am a huge fan of their 2hr Express tan in dark, and wanted to give this a try because it’s summer and I’m looking for a slightly darker shade. This tanner really is great for the most part, it goes on smoothly and evenly, the color guide is easy to follow and blend out, it does have a self tanner scent during application and just after the first shower but then goes away shortly, it fades evenly after about 5 days, and ultimately it’s a DARK tan. My only cons about this product are the price point (I think it’s a bit much in comparison to comparable tans on the market) and the undertones of this are not my favorite on myself. The bottle says olive undertones and that is definitely not the case. It definitely pulls more red/warm undertones vs olive like the Coco and Eve or Bondi Sands tanners do. So while the tan is a nice deep color, I didn’t love it on myself. I won’t knock it for that because I know everyone has a preferred undertone they like on themselves with self tanners. Just buyer beware it’s a very warm toned tanner.

When I say I’ve tried every single type of self tanner out there, that’s honestly an understatement. I’ve used everything, mousses, lotions, sprays, drugstore brands, luxury brands, you name it. Some were too orange, some faded patchy, some didn’t even show up. But this one? It’s on a whole different level. The color is so dark, which is exactly what I want in a tan. It’s rich, deep, and actually doesn’t wash off immediately when I rinse it. It dries fast and doesn’t feel sticky at all, and it starts showing up immediately!! This seriously is a GAME CHANGER! It goes on so smooth, blends like a dream, and doesn’t cling to dry patches or make me look like a patchy mess or looking like a turtle shell after a few days. However, i dont just use it by itself. Ive finally found a routine that works after trying a million different ways to keep my tan dark for at least a week. I apply Peta Jane in Dark first and rinse the next day because it gives that perfect base then I go in with this. After i put it on i go in with the Dolce Glow Post tan drying powder and that removes all of the sticky! Then the next day i go in with the Norvell Gradual tan or the Peta Jane gradual tan and i use that every day until i am ready to start all over again. I know its alot but it works for me!

Repeat customer! Always comes out great. Not orange at all. I use a mitt to apply. It takes a couple minutes to dry before I can put my clothes on. I do wear darker colored clothes because it will rub off a little but that’s to be expected. Not a harsh smell but does smell like a tanning product.

I’ve tried so many self tanners and this is hands down my favorite. The color looks amazing! It’s very natural looking and not too orange especially on pale skin tones. It has more of a brown undertone, instead of some tanners which have more green or red undertone. This is an excellent tanner if you’re looking for a deep dark natural looking tan that will last. The only complaint I have is after 1 week when I redo my tan, it takes some effort to scrub off lol but it certainly lasts! Overall 10/10

I’ve been an avid self tanner for over 20 years. I’ve used MANY brands, but Loving Tan mousse has been my favorite for the last few years. I tan usually about once a week. I love how Loving Tan fades so naturally, doesn’t streak during application and doesn’t crack when fading. The mousse application takes me 10 mins to apply before bed, if that. The color is always a beautiful natural brown after developing on my skin, and matches my undertones perfectly compared to when I get a tan naturally. With all of that being said, I’ve been using Ultra Dark for years. It’s always very dark on me so I’ve never cared to try the Platinum. Recently I was doom scrolling on Amazon and came across the platinum with the rave reviews. I thought what the heck, I’ll finally give it a try and I bought it. The color pay off of this for me is HIGHLY disappointing. It’s nowhere near as dark as Ultra Dark gets me. It’s still a beautiful color, goes on just the same. But after washing it off, I can barely tell that I tanned. I’m sad that I spent $60 on this bottle when I could’ve just gotten what I usually use. I’ll stick to Ultra Dark (even the UD 2 hour express is amazing) from now on.

To all my fair-skinned girlies: RUN, don’t walk to buy this Loving Tan Mousse. I have been trying out and using a plethora/smorgasbord/vast array of various self tanning products for the past 15 years. I can confidently say that no other tanning mousse is as good as (really ANY of the) Loving Tan stuff. You will not find streaks or orange tones here. I cannot sing the praises of this product enough. I do wish it lasted longer, but that’s my only negative comment. I wish it could last for like a month.

If you are really pale - it’s way to dark !
