## Overview

ADA Aqua Soil Amazonia (3L) is a premium Japanese plant-based substrate rich in organic nutrients and humic acid, engineered to lower water pH and hardness for optimal aquatic plant growth. Its uniquely shaped granules support robust root systems and maintain water clarity post-cycling, making it the go-to choice for advanced hobbyists aiming for lush, natural aquascapes.

## Description

Designed to reproduce the image of desertcart, creates an aquascape depicting the fertile South American rainforest with the dynamic alternation of rainy and dry seasons. A high pH level (alkaline) of the substrate causes difficulties for aquatic plants in consuming nutrients. The Aqua Soil Series decreases the hardness of the water and lowers the PH level to the degree at which most aquatic plants can consume nutrients and comfortably grow. Aqua Soil granules maintain their shape and density for long periods underwater securing good circulation of water and oxygen through the substrate. With Aqua Soil, growing difficult plants such as Tonina sp. becomes easier, and it is ideal for fish demanding soft water. (This product is recommended for advanced hobbyists, for beginners, we recommend Aqua Soil desertcartia Light)

Review: HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! - WARNING - THIS LEECHES AMMONIA. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO START THE NITROGEN CYCLE IN YOUR TANK, YOUR FISH *WILL* DIE IF YOU ADD THEM IMMEDIATELY AFTER USING THIS SUBSTRATE AND STARTING YOUR TANK. IF YOU ARE AN INEXPERIENCED AQUARIST OR JUST A HOBBY FISH KEEPER THIS IS NOT THE SUBSTRATE FOR YOU. That all being said - i SWEAR by this substrate for growing all manner of aquatic plants. It's so rich in nutrients, I had almost zero dust kickup and the tank became crystal clear within a few days of filling it, and two months after the cycle had completed and established I was able to start adding fish. I currently have a 5 gallon fluval spec with two endlers' live bearers in it. I plan to add some neocaridina shrimp later on after the tank has fully established. I have also used this soil in my 50 gallon species-only tank of green tiger barbs, and all other freshwater tanks i've had in the past. if you know how to handle the nitrogen cycle and you know that you need to do water changes WEEKLY and not MONTHLY (with literally any tank that has any substrate in it - not just this one!) this is THE substrate to buy for beautiful planted tanks. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Review: High quality substrate in a low tech planted tank - First time using this product in a 20 gallon aquarium heavily planted. So far, so good. Researched the product extensively and watched user videos on Youtube to help me decide if I wanted this at all. The tank cycled in two weeks and most of the plants survived the ordeal. Water quality after cycling is excellent with ph being settling in at 6.8-7 range. The plants seem to like it and it certainly is a natural looking substrate. The tank has only been set up 3 weeks at this point so I will repost if there are any changes as time goes by. Good price for the product.

## Features

- Completely new substrate made from rare and sparse source of Japanese plant-based black soil derived from decomposed leaf mulch
- Rich in organic elements and nutrients that creates conditions ideal for healthy growth of aquatic plants and has a good influence on the physiological functions of fish and shrimp
- Helps to bring the pH level and hardness of the water down to an ideal level for most of the aquatic plants
- Composed of granules of size and density ideal for the fast development of healthy plant root systems. Granules have a natural irregular shape that produces a natural look
- Contains high levels of natural humic acid that may or may not cause some initial water cloudiness depending on your local water chemistry. Water cloudiness will go away with proper maintenance and water changes. Therefore, this product is recommended for advanced hobbyist seeking to make a fully planted aquarium

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great for CRS shrimp.
*by I***R on August 11, 2017*

Great PH buffering substrate. This is highly recommended (if not a necessity!) for Crystal Red shrimp or other Taiwan Bee shrimp. Brought the PH of my distilled water down from 7 to 6.6 and i expect it to get to 6.4 within another week or so. This stuff is very good for plants as well, which is its primary use to most people. It will cloud your tank when you first put it in for about 24 hours or so and thats normal. One bag is about enough for a 15 gallon tank, i was able to get two 10 gallon tanks a good layer however i added a bit of black gravel to the tanks as well. If doing a layer of sand over this one bag would be adequate for a 20-25g tank, possibly larger.
