Sweet brushes
Beautiful brushes, great for pre-wetting, then loading pigment. I can get fine lines as well as wide washes. I had no problem at all removing the shipping glue; just boil water & swish for a few seconds, done. They clean up super easy with 'the masters' brush cleaner. They were packaged well & are constructed to last. I'm looking forward to many years of use. Recommend this purchase.

Beautiful useful brushes
Great for blending or creating bodies of water! I applied a crazy glu type glue around the base to keep hairs from falling out, it worked beautifully. Meant for watercolor but I have used for acrylics paints , oil, and watercolor.

Soft Brushes
I have other goat hair brushes and these don't feel the same. Apparently these use a different type of goat hair that is softer. They are soft and require a change in technique, at least for me. What I do like about them is that they have a very nice chisel edge to them which was what I was looking for.The company is very responsive though as I initially posted a rather negative review and they responded almost immediately. Since then I went back and tried the brushes again. I'll give them (and me) more time to see how they work for me.

Great performance.
This brush is great. Holds water, gives me a great chiseled sharp edge with just the right stiffness to be functional. It’s my favorite brush. Brilliant!

Wonderful wash brushes
Oh these are a good quality brush. I have had other hake brushes in the past . The type that are basically used for pottery. They worked ok for watercolor , but the short handles didn’t work as I’d hoped for loosening up my water color painting. This set of long handled goat hair hake brushes are fantastic . I love the three sizes. So far I’ve mostly used the smaller two, but once I get comfortable with them I’ll use the largest size too. I followed the directions for removing the corn based adhesive that keeps the brushes safe during shipping . It’s easy, boil a bit of water and dip and swish the head of the brush in the boiling water for just a few seconds . The adhesive will dissolve and a quick rinse in the sink and a bit of shaping and one is ready to paint . These are very good quality brushes . No shedding and washes go on the paper very consistently. They hold a lot of water so it is easy to wet a background on a mid sized paper with one wetting of the brush. They also hold a lot of paint . I didn’t always have enough of a color mixed up so my paint washes initially were a bit thin and light. My fault , not the brushes . It’s not a good painting by any means , but the one with the trees in my photos I primarily used the hake brush. ( except for the thin tree trunks ). So they are easy to control for skies, treetops and foregrounds with some detail . The second painting of the bridge is a line and wash and the brushes worked very well on that style the sky and foreground washes came out well for me . If one is trying to work at loosening up their watercolor painting techniques , using larger brushes is a great way to start . These are lovely well made brushes and a handy addition to ones watercolor brush collection. I even like that they came with a hole in the handle and a cord for hanging them to dry . I had a inexpensive adhesive hook that I hung on the side of my art supply cabinet and I hung all three brushes together . It seems like an easy way to store them without the chance of bending the goat hair.

I LOVE them!
I have fude brushes that I use when I make etegami cards. However, I had never used Hake watercolor brushes. I LOVE them! This set comes with 3 brushes in different widths, that are designed to work like flat brushes. They come in some nice protective envelopes, so they arrive safely. The goat hair brush bristles are also coated in corn glue for extra protection. This coating must be removed prior to using them, which is easily achieved by dipping the bristles for 1-3 seconds in boiled water. I used a wet on wet technique to do the background to my sample, and these worked beautifully. I can’t wait to experiment with them more on some other watercolor projects. If you like watercolors, I would definitely recommend you try out this Biaelk Flat Goat Hair Hake Watercolor brush set.

Kept it in the original m cardboard box for a few weeks before opening it today. The bamboo handles are moldy, probably because they are unvarnished and not properly treated. Will have to toss them

ThisThis is a disappointing purchase. Bought after seeing Michael Solovyeve's you tube series and his promotional push. The product started losing bristles(hairs) right from the first use, the brushing plane splits out and does not hold shape while painting. The constructin is also very cheap and perhaps a duplicate of the ones Michael use in his YouTube demos. It costs a fortune but very disappointing to use. This
