CORNELL CHRIS CARRY ON Review: A new direction and mood we wish he would've stayed on - What an unbelievable loss in 2017. Ten years before his death, Carry On was Cornell's second solo album from 2007, but first solo after several albums and years with Audioslave, which marked a new direction and mood. The cover of "Billie Jean" just two years before Jackson's death is haunting. "Scar on the Sky"is a classic. "You know my name" and "Finally forever" are great songs too. There are a few duds on this album, but most of the songs have a real genuine feel to them. Steve Lillywhite does an excellent production of the album. While Carry On does not have the emotional power and songwriting perfection that Higher Truth (2015) has, this album is still a great starter and a historic marker in Cornell's career. Review: “Carry On” is a great follow up to Chris’ first (and very underrated) solo ... - “Carry On” is a great follow up to Chris’ first (and very underrated) solo album “Euphoria Mourning”. There are so many wonderful songs on this record imo — ‘Safe & Sound’, ‘Today’, ‘You Know My Name’ and ‘Arms Around Your Love’ just to name a few. Chris did a lot of amazing work as a solo artist (and in his bands too), so I would definitely recommend listening to this album.

Great, but Weird Titles
This is a great CD for the most part. Like most albums, there are one or two tracks I skip, ( ie #9) but in general the songs are well written and of course Cornell's excellent vocals stand out. Maybe it's me, but I don't understand why he put such strange titles on two of the best songs. ("Poison Eye", and "Killing Birds" ). Despite the weird titles it is well worth buying if you are a fan of his music.
