I wanted some small fans that I could mount in a micro-camper I'm building. I intend to position 3 or 4 fans around the interior, powered by a "house battery" on board, with a mounted switch to activate them. The problem with all the other small USB fans I looked through on Amazon is that they have "chicklet" type on/off switches, which, if you were to cut the power to the unit (like I would do by making a master on/off switch which cuts the power) it will reset the fan to the default "off" setting, and to activate them again you have to reach behind the fan and press the "chicklet" button again to re-start it and set the speed you want. THIS fan has a good-old-old-fashioned mechanical rocker switch, two position for low/high. If you cut the power to it, and turn the power back on, it comes on right where you left it before. PERFECT for my purpose. The fan is also NICELY QUIET, especially on the low setting (note, the "high" setting seems to be only about 20% faster than the low setting, but I intend to keep it on low anyway so that doesn't matter to me). Both the fans I bought have no rattles or squeeks. Nice little fan, would be just perfect for a personal desk fan to power from your computers' USB port.

This little fan was quiet enough, two settings, workhorse, and small enough that it doesn't take enough real estate on the desk. I like the adjustability.I liked this fan so much, I bought two, one for home office and one for the office.Definitely good, thick plastic, easy to clean, and good little motor - the first one is going strong after 3 years.Definitely a buy

Then puts out good flow low and high but has a little bit of a vibration even on low. It makes it louder on the counter because it's vibrating and on high it vibrates enough that the hole unit actually has a slow rotation. I guess if you glue it down to your desk and placed on top of a foam cushion it would be tolerable.9/15 update fan was replaced and vibration is gone with new fan. Nice output.

Perfect little fan! I had another small fan like this that was SO noisy, this one has a quiet purr that's a soothing white noise. It moves air like a bigger fan, and when I have it plugged into my portable battery it hardly uses any power at all! Also can't beat it for the price! Winner!The only down side is it can't be hung up easily as the base is too wide to just hook onto anything. Still happy with it!
