Excellent product. The liposomal delivery clearly improves absorption compared to standard astaxanthin, and the 24 mg dose is stronger than most on the market. A commonly available concentration of Astaxanthin powder is 5%. This means that in order to put 24 mg of Astaxanthin in one of these soft gels, it would require 480 mg of powder. Following is the calculation: 480 mg x 0.05% = 24 mg. The average weight of these soft gels is 650 mg (see photos). The empty soft gel weighs 200 mg (see photo). The net fill weight of the soft gel is calculated by subtracting 200 mg from the 650 mg for a total available net fill weight in the soft gel of 450 mg. The label on the bottle states that it contains 24 mg Astaxanthin and 200 mg of phosphatidylcholine from sunflower oil along with glycerin and purified water. Based on the above calculations it would be physically impossible to even fit the powder in this soft gel. NatureBell Sunflower Lecithin contains 1200 mg lecithin and 180 mg of phosphatidylcholine per soft gel. This means to put 200 mg phosphatidylcholine in the Astaxanthin soft gel it would require 1340 grams of lecithin. Since the soft gel can only hold 450 mg, it would take 3 soft gels just to hold the phosphatidylcholine. There would be no room for the powder, water or glycerin. Astaxanthin is a very dark reddish-brown powder. When mixed with oil, it is very dark red. This product is not the proper color for astaxanthin at any concentration let alone for 24 mg. I compared this product to a 10 mg product that I bought off of Amazon. The color of the 10 mg product is very dark red. The taste is very strong. This 24 mg product is light orange and nearly tasteless. Lastly, this 24 mg product does not work! I switched back to using the 10 mg product I have on hand and in just a few hours all my body aches went away.

I take this for eye health. It's difficult to know for certain if results are positive, however, I take this along with other eye health supplements and have for some years. My macular degeneration has stayed stable during that period. It has not progressed.

This is the best product I’ve found for my skin! I started taking this about two years ago and ( not kidding) I get a compliment on my skin every day! I will be 71 years old in June and I look younger than I did in my 50’s. Very easy to take and there is no taste.
