So since we saw one of these (obviously much bigger) at the museum our son has been wanting one. Luckily amazon to the rescue because the asking price at the museum for one this size was NUTS. -While I did appreciate the option for batteries to make it portable, when you use batteries (even fresh ones) it is not very bright. -When you plug it in though it is very bright and made for a very happy kiddo. -Okay to me it was kind of a duh but anyway if they leave their hand/finger in a spot too long it will get HOT. LOL Which I thought was great because “Yeah, I know Mom!” but just be aware. So far this is holding up pretty good to normal use and for the price I paid (about half currant price on sale, and don’t use batteries) this is great.

Just like the description says this is a great fun novelty toy for a kiddo! I love the option to do batteries or plug in with the USB cord. I personally prefer to plug it in b/c batteries didn't last too long and the brightness is much better with the plug. The size is great for a kiddo and not too big where it makes it awkward to put it on anything, think size of a snow globe. It looks. Ice, a black tiered stand with a clear sturdy globe on top. If you are looking for a fun nostalgic toy for a kiddo, this is a great option!

Box came damaged but the product itself works fine.

This is so cool and I like that it can use AAA batteries. But when I got a new adapter for it and used it and the plasma ball broke so I opened it up to find out why it broke and I found out. It was a broken capacitor

Never worked. Make sure you open it before the return window is closed because it might be broken. This was a very disappointing Christmas gift for a child.
