I've been using this for 35 years. It used to be different numbers and lettering back in the day, but I posted two pictures of my natural black brown color hair for comparison. I use double 40vol. And leave on 45mins-1hr. I always get compliments on my hair. Thank you Clairol

If you have 20 volume developer clairol bottle is great. They have always had a nice ash color I like without the purple some have.

Very nice! It does what it is supposed to. Also, with the blue on the boxes...read the instructions for the proper Volume Developer to use!!! This one needs the 40 Volume.
