Gorgeous, well made, unbreakable and pretty
Really gorgeous item. Perfect size with room to spare for either Euro blocks or Eastern US sized sticks. Washes up in the dishwasher like a dream. Just oil the top with a little butcher block oil to bring out the grain and it will be protected from smears and fingerprints (don't wash the top in the dishwasher, just wipe it off with damp cloth). Very pleased, we were looking for an unbreakable lightweight butter dish that's not ugly plastic. A++

Too tiny; handle conducts heat
This is an absurd product. It's thimble sized, so that it barely can stand up on the burner. The heat goes AROUND it since the center of a burner is not where the flame comes up, so the flame encircles the tiny product like a moat. But OK, the buyer can figure out before purchase how small it is. But then the worst thing is that it's handle conducts heat, so you can't touch it: it heats up, like the rest of it, and will burn your fingers--especially since IT, and not the pot part, is right over the flame.

No seal, but very nice, top fits well but not snug.
I had purchased another brand last year. It chipped inside & out. This seems like it may hold up better. Only caveat is there is nothing around the edge to make it a tight seal.

The nicest butter dish I've ever handled. Pricey but worth it.
Someone else said in a review that it's silly to love a butter dish but they did - and I do too. Fits standard european butter sizes (as available in the UK) comfortably without getting butter on the lid. The simple wooden lid, fits well. The dish itself is heavy and elegant. The nicest butter dish I've ever handled.

Not induction compatible on my stove
I ordered the butter warmer. It says it is Induction Compatible. It just arrived and we put water in it on put on our induction stove. Did not work at all. So back it goes and will try another product.

This is not an airtight container.
Very nice container that I do not think I will use for the purpose of storing my butter. I do not know what I will do with it just yet but it’s very pretty. I did not expect it to be an airtight container. I just wanted to put that out there for anyone who is interested.

This is the one to buy.
After two being dropped and broken I decided to pay the extra cost for this one. Not only is it Unbreakable it's also a little deeper so it actually will accomodate a one pound block unlike the porcelain model which is half an inch too shallow so you have to cut the block and store the piece for later which I find to be false representation. Fact is even this one could be a quarter inch deeper but it's okay even though a bit of a tight fit. If you use pound blocks this is the one to buy.
