Review: Found something the Bengal cat won't turn his nose up at......so far - I have an extremely picky Bengal cat who decided a couple of weeks ago that he was done with Petite Cuisine canned food. I tried every brand, including Birdie and Louie, every flavor, and every texture known to feline. He wasn't having any of it. Most of it wasn't even sniff worthy. He does, however, love Delectables cat treats. Sadly, as treats, they don't have the nutrients cats need from food. I found this food through Google. It is right on point with the texture and consistency of Delectables but also has the nutrients and hydration that he needs from food. This was a win! He loves it! He is also picky about eating the same thing twice in a row so the variety pack is great with the 6 flavors so that I can rotate his meals. As long as he keeps thinking that he's getting treats and eats it, I'll keep buying it. Review: Too tempting for even an ill cat to refuse. Lip smacking good by itself, or added to other foods. - You know that enthusiastic sound of lip smacking? That head down, focused and intent posture that your kit takes when devouring a meal they can't get enough of? When you have a kit that needs to eat but can't or won't, that smacking sound is music to your ears, and their position at their food bowl is a sight for sore eyes. Long story short, our kit was attacked by a friends dog. They'd played together for years, so this was a fluke occurrence. (it was discovered later that the dog had a broken toe and his pain probably led to his short temper that day) Our kit will be fine, but during her recovery she's not wanted to eat much. The area on the side of her neck and throat is still sutured and the vet said she may have discomfort when chewing. We tried baby food, pate style cat food (mixed and watered down to make it softer), I even used an immersion blender in a can of pate food to further smooth the texture - - - none were enticing enough, although the baby food piqued the most interest. Although her normal diet consists of several Tiki Cat canned flavors, I did not know of this Tiki Cat Velvet product. Our friend (the owner of the dog) has been so vigilant in trying to help with our kit's recovery, that she brought several of these pouches over last week. I opened a pouch and our kit went nuts. She meowed for the first time since the accident and circled me like a shark. I could not smell anything when I opened the pouch, but I guess she did right away. I squeezed a little bit out of the pouch and she lapped it up right from the corner of the packet. I squeezed half a pouch into her bowl and that happy sound of lip smacking began. It was gone in a minute. The second half of the pouch was gone just as quickly. If you are familiar at all with a jar of Gerber chicken baby food, it's very similar to this in texture and consistency. Rather than tearing off the entire top of the packet to open, I've been just snipping off a corner then squeezing out the serving portion. This makes it much neater and cleaner to dispense. After using this by itself for 2 weeks, our vet suggested adding in some of her previous favorite wet foods. These pouches are a godsend, but they are quite spendy. As much as it's a joy to see her eating again, I was a bit nervous she'd continue to refuse her other food even once she's completely healed. I squeeze a bit of this Velvet on the bottom of her bowl, dish a spoonful of her usual wet food on top of that, then squeeze a bit more Velvet on top - - - like a Velvet sandwich. It works and she's been eating the entire bowl of food this way for over a week now. Knowing how much she likes it, I will continue to buy this and serve it this way even after she's fully recovered. ## Features - GRAIN FREE NUTRITION – Made with real meat, Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse offers delicious nutrition - NUTRIENT RICH CAT FOOD - Real meat is the first ingredient, giving your senior cat the nutrition she needs and the taste she loves. - HIGH MOISTURE WET CAT FOOD – Count on the high moisture content of Tiki Cat Velvet Mouse to give your cat the supplemental water she needs - HIGH PROTEIN INGREDIENTS – Your cat is a carnivore, so feed her the animal protein she craves most - BALANCED WET FOOD – Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse provides complete nutrition and delicious flavors for your cat, no matter her age or life stage ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01LXD25GG | | Additional Features | Silky-smooth texture, high moisture content, high protein ingredients | | Age Range (Description) | Adult | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Allergen Information | Chicken Meat, Gluten Free | | Animal Food Diet Type | Veterinary Diet | | Animal Food Nutrient Content Claim | High Protein | | Best Sellers Rank | #2,392 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #32 in Cat Food Pouches | | Brand | TIKI PETS | | Brand Name | TIKI PETS | | Breed Recommendation | All Breed Sizes | | Container Type | Pouch | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 1,552 Reviews | | Flavor | Variety Pack | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00693804480064 | | Included Components | Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse Grain-Free Wet Food with a Silky-Smooth Texture for Adult Cats & Kittens, 2.8 oz. 12BX - Variety Pack | | Item Form | Pate | | Item Type Name | Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse Grain-Free Wet Food with a Silky-Smooth Texture for Adult Cats & Kittens, 2.8 oz. 12BX - Variety Pack | | Item Weight | 2.8 ounces | | Manufacturer | Cloud Star Corporation | | Manufacturer Part Number | FBA_693804480064 | | Model Number | 48006 | | Number of Items | 12 | | Occasion | Birthday | | Package Size Name | 12-Pack | | Pet Type | Cat | | Product Benefits | High protein content for optimal cat nutrition | | Recommended Uses For Product | Cat Food - Complete Nutrition, Appetite Stimulation, Brain Health, Immune Support, Skin and Coat Health, Weight Management, Digestive Health | | Special Ingredients | real meat, high protein, high moisture | | Specific Uses For Product | Cat Food - Velvet Mouse | | Target Species | Cat | | UPC | 693804480064 | | Unit Count | 33.6 Ounce | | Warranty Description | Following expiration date on packaging | ## Product Details - **Age Range (Description):** Adult - **Brand:** TIKI PETS - **Flavor:** Variety Pack - **Item Form:** Pate - **Specific Uses For Product:** Cat Food - Velvet Mouse ## Images ![Tiki Cat Luau Velvet Mousse Wet Cat Food, Variety Pack, 2.8oz Pouch, 12ct - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71SqORZUP1L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Flavor** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Should I microwave the refrigerated portion (my cat doesn't finish the whole pouch) before serving it to my cat?** A: Hi, we do not recommend microwaving our foods as this can alter the consistency, texture, and flavor. I fed this to a sick kitty so she wasn’t eating much.
