Excellent value for money for a bio available Q10
Good expiry date on these and they were in an appropriate sized small well sealed bottle. Capsules were normal sized and easy to swallow for most people. It has to be said that Ubiquinol is the best version to get as it is 'active' ingredient that CoQ10 turns into, so obviously it's more bioavilable than they amount often produced by standard CoQ10. Unfortunately it is much pricier and I can only afford to get that occassionally as a 'boost', and the rest of the time make do with normal CoQ10 hoping that I'm still getting enough to be of benefit. These intrigued me because while they appear to be standard CoQ10 (ubiquinone) they claim to be more absorbable made from natural fermentation. Obviously I have no way of testing that claim, but I'll take their word for it. :-) They are a UK company manufacturing to GMP standards with no added nasties, and are suited to Vegans. If you have to get standard CoQ10 instead of the expensive Ubiquinol version, then this looks as if it is the one to choose given it's high absorbability from natural fermentation. As they are a good price for a 2 month supply these are one I will be buying in the future so am very happy to have discovered them!

I find it is great for my fibromyalgia.
I was pleased to try this 'Charava Ubiquinone Coenzyme Q10 250mg CoQ10 Capsules - 30 Super Strength Vegetarian Friendly Capsules | Naturally Fermented High Absorption CoQ10 | Charava Longevity Supplements'. I have been taking this type of supplement for over a year now and have found it to be great for my fibromyalgia - my muscle pains have definitely reduced. When you take certain medications it can prevent the absorption of CoQ10 from your diet, which is needed by the body for muscles to perform properly. This small black plastic bottle, with a twist off lid has a clear plastic seal over the outside and also one underneath the lid, for safety. You get 30 vegetarian capsules, enough for one month at the dose of 1 x 250mg per day, preferably in the morning. The size of the white capsules is okay - not too big. They slip down easily, with water. I haven't had any adverse reactions from taking it. The best before date on my bottle is 30/03/2024 and they are from a company in the UK. The current price of £8.49 is good value for money, in my opinion. I will buy in the future.

Good value for high dose - unfamiliar brand and mixed evidence for efficacy
If you want to give CoQ10 a go, you might want to start with a 100mg to 200mg dose which is a normal dosage for a variety of conditions. So, this is a relatively strong dose. The price is reasonably competitive for the dose – 30p per 250mg capsule. You can currently get a steep discount by subscribing to regular purchases. I recently reviewed a 200mg capsule quality dose at 22p a day so this is roughly comparable. The brand is unfamiliar and appears to produce only quite specialist, unusual supplements. Unlike some similar supplements, these have no independent quality certification at this stage although one of their other products does. Like many people with chronic fatigue, I have tried Coenzyme Q10 at various times. I did so first when encouraged to by my GP, on the grounds she felt that some people responded to it. It may or may not have helped me - I was also encouraged at the time to take a general multivitamin and mineral, to take magnesium, to improve my sleeping patterns, to eat regularly and to build up my physical strength slowly. I was found to have a vitamin D deficiency and also took vitamin D supplements. Improvements can take a long time. The ME Association, patient champion of those with ME/CFS, is sceptical about the value of CoQ10, having reviewed the evidence. It says on its website: "Co-enzyme Q10 is known as a coenzyme because it helps other enzymes in the body to carry out their normal functions. In relation to muscle fatigue, it is involved in energy producing chemical pathways inside the mitochondria – parts of the cell where energy in the form of a chemical called ATP is produced. It also has antioxidant activity. So there are clearly some theoretical reasons why CoQ10 might be helpful in ME/CFS. "However, despite all the claims being made for CoQ10, there is very little scientific evidence linking deficiency with disease. Neither is there much evidence of benefit in diseases where it is sometimes recommended such as heart failure, mitochondrial muscle diseases, and Parkinson’s disease (where decreased levels have been found in the spinal fluid). The same situation currently applies to ME/CFS."

Anti ageing, energy boosting
Considered the king of antioxidants, CoQ10 is the most optimal form to be metabolised by the body. Ubiquinol Q10 supplements play a crucial role in producing the cellular energy and super enzymes required by the body to keep organs functioning. Ubiquinol is the predominant form of Q10 Coenzyme in healthy young adults. Ubiquinone, the regular and cheaper variety of CoQ10, must be converted into Ubiquinol to create cellular energy. However, as you age, your body’s ability to convert Ubiquinone into energy decreases. On doctor's orders, my husband is taking CoQ10 capsules, following a heart attack four years ago. He's almost at the end of this one month dose and reports good energy levels. CoQ10 is highly concentrated in organs such as the brain, liver, and kidney, skin and heart but decreases with age. These capsules from Charava possess potent antioxidant properties that can help protect important proteins and relieve mitochondrial DNA from oxidative stress. Made in the UK.
