A Perfect Fit for the Kohler Santa Rosa, Funtions as well as a Toto Washlet!
I was in the market for a bidet seat for a guest bathroom that has a Kohler Santa Rosa compact elongated toilet. Finding a compatible seat can be tricky with compact models, but after some research, I purchased the Kohler PureWash E820. I can confirm that it fits the Santa Rosa perfectly! The installation process was straightforward and simple. It took me about 20 minutes from start to finish. The majority of that time was actually spent maneuvering within the tight confines where my plumbing valves are located—the bidet hardware itself connected seamlessly. In our master bathroom, we have a high-end Toto C5 Washlet. I was a bit worried the E820 might feel like a downgrade, but I was wrong. All of the functions on the PureWash E820 work equally as well as those on the Toto C5. The wash settings, water pressure, and temperature controls are excellent and provide a consistently great experience. If you have a Kohler Santa Rosa and are looking for a bidet seat that is guaranteed to fit, the E820 is an excellent choice. It offers premium functionality and easy installation, making it a fantastic value. Highly recommended!

Worth Every Penny
I spent a lot of time looking around Amazon for an electric toilet seat/bidet and I kind of got into "analysis paralysis" with all of the choices, the different prices, all of the different features, and all of the positive and negative reviews. I knew going with Kohler was somewhat of a safe bet because I have a few of their other products and the quality seems to be good. Basically, I knew I wanted an electric toilet seat with a bidet with a seat heater, electric deodorizer, and with warm water. I also knew I did NOT want a toilet seat with a remote controller (seriously, why do you need a remote to control something you are literally sitting on?). I found this bidet to be fairly easy to install. I have almost zero plumbing experience, so I was thankful for that. The seat controls are VERY easy to figure out. Everything is pretty self-explanatory. The deodorizer is...ok. It's not the greatest, but it's WAY better than a bidet that doesn't come with one. I love that the toilet seat has an automatic light that turns on at night. I like that it is self-cleaning. I love that the seat is always warm. *One thing to note is that the bidet does not have a connection to your hot water source.* This was actually a POSITIVE selling point for me, because I didn't want to have to drill a hole in my cabinet to get to the sink connections. This means, however, that even if you set the bidet water to the warmest setting, is not going to be warm right away. It does warm up very quickly (I'm talking seconds), though, and I have had no issues with it. The electrical cord doesn't reach too far. My bathroom outlet is right next to the toilet, but it is on TOP of the counter, not below it (I feel like this is how most bathrooms are). So I was disappointed that the cord does not reach that far, however, I got an inexpensive 3-pronged extension cord and that solved the problem. Ultimately, I've had this toilet seat / bidet for about 3 months now and I still love it. Guests love it too! For what fancy bidets are going for these days, I think this is absolutely worth it.

Great features. Love the heated seat in winter!!! Should have gotten the model w/ remote.
We got this to replace an American Standard bidet seat that eventually worked itself loose from our Kohler toilet. It was no longer possible to tighten that seat, so we decided to get one that exactly fit our Kohler. What I Like: — It fit absolutely perfectly on my elongated bowl Archer toilet and installed quickly and easily. (We don't do plumbing stuff well, but this was very easy.) — This seat has a low profile which looks so much better than the older model, high in the back, seats of every brand. — The seat is quite comfortable. — The controls are what I was used to (front, back, wand length adjustment, pulse massage, deodorizing fan, heated seat, adjustments for temp and strength of water stream) and are fairly standard on these seats at this point. — The heated seat. This is pretty much the height of civilization, imo. Life doesn't get much better than this! If you live where it gets cold in the winter or even just at night, I cannot emphasize how fantastic this feature is. I like all of the features of this seat, but the heat is easily my favorite. I had it on my previous seat as well and I've been spoiled by it. If I have to sit on a cold seat on a cold morning, it is a most unpleasant shock. The heat can be adjusted or completely turned off. — The UV sanitization feature. This goes on automatically, although getting it to go on only when you want it to, rather than constantly, was more difficult than it should have been. — The drying fan. I did not have this on my previous seat and it's a nice feature - cool, warm and hot. — The seat slips on and off its mooring very easily. This is a very important feature for being able to clean all around the seat. — The night light. My husband likes this feature more than I do. The two lights that make the nice blue glow at night, shine right into the water and are pretty bright when you open the toilet lid. I've learned to look away when opening the lid because the light is bright enough to wake me up more than I want in the middle of the night. There is no dimmer for the night light. It is either On or Off. But my husband is happy that he no longer had to turn a light on in the bathroom. What I Don't Like: — The placement of the controls. When you are sitting, the controls are at about 5:00 (if looking down). That means that you have to twist a bit to see the controls. My husband says he can feel which buttons to push now and no longer has to twist around, but I am still twisting. Not as much, but enough to bug me. My other seat had a remote control, and I should have gotten the Kohler seat that that had it, but the price difference was kind of ridiculous just for a remote. Bottom line: Overall, I like this seat very much. It fits perfectly, does everything it's supposed to do and is easy to clean, which is obviously important. And the heated seat is soooooo nice to have.

2 Thumbs Up for Kohler Bidet Seat
New to using a bidet and didn’t want to spend for complete bidet toilet that if I didn’t like would cost me a significant amount of money plus the cost of taking it out and replacing with a regular toilet. The solution is just buying the bidet seat and decided on this Kohler because of the their years of experience with the bidet seat. My conclusions is it works grrrreeeaat! I can’t imagine a total bidet toilet could be any better. Easy to install but you do need a wall socket close to the toilet, easy for an electrician to install the wall socket. The bidet seat is very easy to install and easy to use. Lots of great features, including: heated seat, water temperature control, choice of water spray direction, deodorizer fan, drying fan, cleaning features and more. Using a bidet is easy and an improvement on personal hygiene. I’ve been using this Kohler bidet seat for 3 months so can’t comment on the life of this unit but it being a Kohler and the reviews I’m expecting years of pleasurable use. If there is any problem Kohler has a good help line and many plumbers know this unit for repair. If it couldn’t be fixed they are so cost effective I’d just replace it with the same bidet seat. I highly recommend this wonderful product.

Can a bidet be life changing? THE ANSWER IS YES!
Oddly, this is my favorite purchase of the year. I had NO idea this is what my life has been missing. It was super easy to install... took me probably 20 minutes and I don't know anything about plumbing. The bidet is AMAZING. I will never NOT be able to own one of these. Who knew a toilet seat could be so life changing. The seat stays heated and that was a nice surprise the first time I sat down. I like having the controller right on the seat itself. There are ones with remotes - but what's the point, when you're already sitting down. You can adjust all kinds of options. There is also a nightlight built in. I didn't particularly like that option as I could see it from my bedroom glowing. If you need to turn this off, press the "stop" button for 3 seconds. This was not in the instruction manual that came with it. I had to google that. The size is just right - no issues fitting right onto my existing toilet base. If you need to remove, its also a simple task - it slides right off (was concerned about this for cleaning purposes).

Brillant Design With All The Bells And Whistles
As a tech enthusiast, I approach every gadget with a critical eye. The Kohler PureWash E590 doesn’t disppointment. Pressure Play: The E590's spray is a marvel of adjustability. From a gentle cascade to a targeted power wash, it caters to every cleansing preference. The pulsating mode is a nice touch, adding a rhythmic massage element. Temperature Titan: The seat's rapid heating and precise water temperature control ensure a hot wash and no more goosebumps! Spray Sensei: The oscillating and positional nozzle movement is like a robotic dance of cleanliness, ensuring thorough coverage. Plus, the self-cleaning and UV sanitation features put hygiene on autopilot. Easy Installation: The quick-connect fittings and clear instructions make installation a breeze, even for non-DIYers like myself. Intuitive Interface: The side panel controls are a model of user-friendliness. Everything from spray strength to dryer temperature is clearly labeled and readily accessible. Nightlight Nirvana: The subtle nightlight is thoughtful, guiding you safely to the throne in the wee hours. Verdict: The Kohler PureWash E590 is more than just a bidet; it's a bathroom tech haven for everyone. Its blend of precision engineering, thoughtful features, and user-friendly design make it a winner in my book. Highly Recommend.

Very disappointed with poor design and functionality
The design for this bidet needs to have some usability testing and redesign in order to work for a broader range of customers. The product description needs improvement in describing the limitations of the seat and the Homeowner's Guide needs a rewrite so the instructions don't refer to the settings on the remote when there is no remote supplied with the product. This product is highly overpriced and over touted for its capabilities. I do not recommended buying this product. Don't waste your money--especially since its limitations aren't described in the product description and you can't find out about the limitations until you install it and try to use it. You cannot return it once it has been installed. I researched this product and thought I'd found one with a remote. The video on the Amazon website showed the product had a remote. It seems however, that when I selected the Biscuit color, the model type was changed from the one with the remote to the one with the side panreI, which I didn't notice when I hit the order button. I didn't notice the model switch until it got installed but was relieved that the Homeowner's Guide said the settings are shown in the remote. See the photo of the Homeowner's Guide pages that refer to the remote. However, this is wrong--there is no remote. Interestingly, the review form I am filling out for this product with the side panel asks for a rating for the Remote Control feature. (See the photo of the review form feature rating for the remote.) I gave it a 1 star but it should have no star as there is no remote. The bidet with the side panel is probably good for a parent who is standing in front of the toilet and operating the side panel for a child or it is good for a very narrow-width butt adult. The problem is that the side panel can't be seen while sitting on the toilet seat for a butt that is wider than 16 to 18 inches. The side panel is also up behind the butt and is not only not visible but it is difficult to reach the buttons if you have a frozen shoulder and can't contort your arm into position. There are two rows of control buttons. You may be able to reach the outer row by groping around with the thumb and guessing which one in the row you are on by using the Homeowner's Guide illustration as a guide but because some buttons have 5 or more different levels of settings, you don't know which one you are starting with or moving to as (according to the manual) they are only shown on the remote, which doesn't exist. The design has two wands -- one for the Front and one for the Rear. There is supposedly a button that can adjust the reach of the wand forward and backward. I tried all 5 positions on each wand and the length of the stream for the supposed Front wand never gets past the front edge of the parineum so it is not possible to clean the vulva or the front area. I called Kohler Customer Support and they said you can maybe achieve it by contorting your body backward or forward on the seat. It depends on the level of flesh on the stomach and legs that may prevent you from leaning forward enough to achieve the desired angle for the distance. The blow dryer is barely a breath and doesn't accomplish much at all in drying the surface area. You still need to wipe with dry tissues to dry off.

Nice potential but poor execution
I have had this in for around a month and there are some very nice features that I really like but it does poorly at the basic function. I am male so my main use is for the rear cleaning. I have a $70 basic plain bidet model for years and the immediate difference between the two is this unit has very poor water pressure/flow rate compared to the inexpensive manual model. Additionally the manual model I have has the tube that comes down so the angle of attack so to speak is much lower and it feels like the spray goes up rather than sideways towards the target area. With those two things which an are fundamental it has been a big disappointment especially considering how expensive it is. Too bad you can’t test drive these things. I have been able to adapt somewhat by just letting it run longer and doing the toilet seat wiggle which mostly helps it get its job done. The other complaint is the actual open area of the seat is super reduced from the original size of the bowl again significantly reduced from the inexpensive manual model. There are plenty of nice things about this unit. The water is very warm initially and cools a bit as it flows but still warmer than the original water temp. Very nice compared to the cold blast from my manual unit. The toilet seat is warm which was never an issue for me but is pleasant enough. The night light function is nice although be better if it was motion activated vs just light activated. The air drying function seems very low powered, I suppose if I wanted to sit there long enough it would get the job mostly done. I think if it had much better pressure it would be so much better. Maybe they couldn’t increase the pressure and keep it warm. As is I still use it over the manual model partially due to the bathroom location and the other because I paid so much for it I feel I need to use it. It does the fundamental job 70% as well as the $70 manual model if you are willing to sit there longer. And if you want to sit an extra 4-5 minutes you can get air dried too. It technically does everything it says, warm water, warm seat, air dry, it just doesn’t do it very well. I wouldn’t buy this again nor recommend it to anyone at the price you have to pay for it.
