Does what its supposed to do
This review is for the Unichrome Adjustable Friction Lid Stay. Item arrived on time and does exactly what its supposed to do. Build quality seems to be good, the adjustment knob works well.

Well made. No installation guide. No screws.
It would be nice to have an installation guide. Similar products that I have purchased have one that shows the optimal mounting position. Be careful if you need to reverse it that you pay close attention to how it is put together as there are a surprising number of parts and the order is important. I was disappointed that it didn't include any mounting screws. That was not a problem for me as I have many on hand. All that said, it is well made and works great for my application.

Cheaply made, and don't hold the lid
These are poorly made. The tightener knobs are sharp and hard to turn and they won't hold up even a light lid. AND they are way overpriced

Perfect for a drop down door support.
Needed a support bar to hold up a drop down door. This was perfect, after originally trying a curved version that didn’t work very well. My keyboard tray is hidden but easily accessible when needed without having the drop down door hanging and in the way. Nice improvement to my desk.

Nice bracket, but the necessary screws were not included.
