I really recommend getting this tool, even if you’re in two minds about it. I tried cutting polystyrene insulation sheets with other methods, but nothing compared to this. It gives professional, sharp cuts, just like the factory cut edges. It is just so quick and easy to use. One tip if you’re making long straight cuts, is get a thin metal ruler and stick a strip of masking tape to the edge. The blade will glide along side this without heating up the ruler, allowing you to get a perfect cut.

I bought this as we were working in a old house so it would make it easier to cut 75 mm silver back foam sheets for insulation. This cutter works wonders, but the down side is that if you have it on high you will start a fire. I found out today just cutting a sheet of foam how easily it can happen that nearly started a fire the foam ignited just cutting it. The house fill with smoke fast with all the new alarms going off we managed to put the fire out. Make sure that the temperature switch is turned down,and read the manual carefully. Would recommend this electric foam cutter.

very useful in my work, I was using saw to cut foams, which was very messy and not accurate way to cut the foam. but this is very helpful for tidy and clean work

Okay, so this is probably great if the foam is 50mm thick, but the longer blade (why I got it) is almost completely useless. It's not hot at the tip, so you have to apply force to cut. It's too flexible, so when you apply force, the blades "split", you end up cutting two wiggly wavey lines, it bends all over the place so it's the messiest worst cut imaginable, not square at all, even if you keep it perfectly square - the blades bend all over the place, sometimes 20mm up or down. The result is an abomination, loads of thin slivers of EPS from in between the blades, cut all over the place. Is slow, because the end isn't hot enough. You can't do anything reliably, because you've no idea what the end is doing in the material.

Used this to cut the polystyrene insulation to shape for a 4 meter shipping container. Worked well.

I had large polystyrene boxes to dispose of. Breaking by hand results in small granules loaded with static electricity. That's why I bought the item. It takes a while to find the best combination of on/off time to avoid over heating and generation of toxic smoke when cutting. However, once learned the cutter works well as advertised.

Works very well. Cuts foam very fast. Takes getting used to. If you feed to quickly the thin blade bends and you have a crappy cut. You must gage the heat, feed speed, thickness of material and keep the angle, speed and follow a well defined line. When your cutting properly there is very little resistance and the melted cut width is about 3/16" or like 4mm. Best to put a piece of lumber on top of the Styrofoam to guide your hand or the side of the tool, which gives a very good clean cut. Great quality tool for the price.

When the blade is not in the machine, the red light turns on and it works. When we add the blade in, nothing works. The light doesn't turn red anymore. What should I do? This is an expensive product, I expect it to work.

Bought this and was hesitant. After turning the temperature up and using it. It is very hot and powerful. Cuts through foam board like butter. Makes this task easy and effortless. Keep in mind it melts the foamboard. So use in a ventilated area. Not inside. Definitely worth buying. Very effect cutter.

Me gusto no es tan Facil de usar como yo imaginaba porque requiero de cortes precisos yo lo uso para cortar hieleras de unicel pero cumple su misión
