I also now have this larger "soft" roller. They are not the same, but I actually like the larger one better. The original is about 5" in diameter and it flattened out somewhat after many uses. I'm a slim 105 lb female. The larger one is about 6" in diameter and sturdier yet soft. It feels better on my spine (along length of spine) and i use either end of it, rather than the center, to do hip rolls side to side. That way it won't flatten so much in the center. It has my vote of approval. I should write a review. There are so many of those dreadful hard rollers out there. They hurt!!! **Q: I've bought the book, but I still need the roller. Unfortunately, I had some major surgery recently and I found that the old roller was just too hard. My physical therapist recommended rolling up a blanket and I tried that, but it was too soft.So I ordered this MELT Soft Roller which wasn't too soft and wasn't too hard and in the words of Goldilocks, it was just right. The only warning I would give is that this roller is considerably shorter and smaller (around) then the standard white/black rollers they have at the gym. I am 5'5 but if I was were much shorter I think this might be too short for me.
