Very well-built. Very useful. Kinda pricey, but you get what you pay for. Avoid the knockoffs.
Very well-built. Very useful. Kinda pricey, but you get what you pay for. Avoid the knockoffs. I've tried a couple of other loupes from different manufacturers in an attempt to save money, but they did not work as well as this original Hoodman loupe. Perfect fit for my Nikon D810. Does a great job with blocking out light in the environment, but I don't want to have to hold it in place. Those elastic bands from Hoodman are too expensive and really don't work very well, according to several reviewers. I want to use adhesive to attach this loupe to my D810's snap-on screen protector which is made of plastic, but I'm unsure which adhesive would be best for this task. I will do some more research on this and may post an updated review. The advantage would be my Hoodman loupe being more securely attached to my D810, held in place by the snap-on points of the Nikon BM-12 screen protector, which also makes it removable when I want to use just the screen without a loupe...or I could just unclip and remove the eyepiece portion of my Hoodman H32MB loupe, leaving just the base still attached.

Good choice
Not wanting to weld or superglue magnets to the screen of my Sony mirrorless, I was glad alternatives existed. This loup is straightforward, simple, well made and effective. It fits perfectly over the screen of my camera and blocks extraneous light while moderately magnifying the image. I do landscapes, and the ability to evaluate depth of field on the screen is essential. This loupe makes the job easy. While it’s another piece of photo detritus to hang about your neck, it beats having to invent ways of blocking light from your lcd.

Great device for screening histograms and images in bright sun light
Great little device that serves its purpose well in bright light. Built well and fits my Nikon D780 but to wide for my D610 (with same diameter screen as buttons are set too close to screen and the device over-laps the buttons). A little expensive but the optical clarity is great. One thing they should ADD is a rubber cap to cover the eye piece to keep it clean. It could be hooked to a short (3 inch) lanyard. It is also light in weight so is hardly noticeable when hung about the neck. Haven't tried on tripod when shooting landscapes ... It should be amazing to focus in live view for landscape.

Good for full sunny days.
It’s a covered magnifying glass that can be adjusted to your vision. Will work well in bright light but not necessarily needed for night time photography. Would of like to have seen this for about half the price.

Good fit for my Sony A7RIII
A good solution for those of us without 360 turning LCD screens. Nice and light this works a treat with my Sony A7RIII coving the screen perfectly as I’ve got less than perfect eyesight the diopter gets me perfect zoomed in details

Awesome for Outdoor Shooting
My photography teacher recommened this and it is a gamechanger! I'm still fairly new to photography, so I need to check my work before I proceed which is difficult to do when you are outside and trying to see your shot on a 3" screen. This works so well and magnifies the screen so you can check your work before proceeding. It's light and easy to carry as well. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it.

A Fantastic Little Piece of Gear
This little piece of gear is just wonderful, especially when shooting in the sun. It shades your display so you can see it in conditions of strong sunlight and you can focus the diopter to match your vision. I wear contact lenses and reading glasses so I often experience difficulty in seeing my camera display. The HoodLoupe is a great substitute for the reading glasses. It can hang conveniently around your neck for easy use. I never go out without one.

Very well designed, allowing light to still enter so the screen stays doesn’t switch off. Makes an enormous difference to be able to review photos and ensure focus is correct. Especially helpful for macro work.

Works well, a bit expensive for a plastic item !

Well made, quality product. Easy to use. Optical quality could be better, but that could be just my eyes.

I always struggled with daylight shots to see the image on the back of my camera. This device works a treat and so important to see the effect of OCF when doing a fashion shoot outside on location. I just wear it round my neck and dont attach it to my camera. It has an adjustable eye piece so I can focus it onto the image on the back of my camera. It might be a bit expensive for what it is but much better than the cheaper alternatives that only screen the sunshine and dont have an adjustable eyepiece for different eye sights. I'm very please I bought it and would recommend it to any serious photographer
