Wasn't sure about this at first, but love it now
This unit is much bigger than I expected. Even though I always check product dimensions, I somehow didn't anticipate a slimmed-down version of R2D2. I also wasn't aware that I was buying a refurbished unit, even after reading all the specs and product details multiple times before making my purchase. That may have been my oversight, and it's working like a champ regardless, and the discounted price for a refurbished unit was helpful. My home smells a lot cleaner, and I'm trusting that the air is actually cleaner, too, because I live in an area with 24/7 vehicle traffic that generates unhealthy particulate matter. Reading other reviews, I was concerned about the product off-gassing an unpleasant chemical smell, but it turns out the smell wasn't from the unit itself. It's the actual new, original filter that emits a toxic fug. When removing the filter from the unit to take off the plastic it's sealed in, the smell was released, and when I went over to check if the unit itself smelled as well, it didn't. But the filter smell dissipated fairly quickly, so it wasn't an issue. When it came time to replace the filter, I was unable to find actual Shark brand replacement filters, so I had to buy aftermarket filters, which have no smell at all. Immediately after turning on the unit for the first time, at the highest fan setting, the readout was showing the air quality at 100%, which was highly unlikely, considering that I live on a very busy street, and hadn't been using my other air purifiers for a while. And I would have expected that the initial toxic filter smell alone would have caused the initial readout to be lower. But despite that, it's been working fine since and appears to now be showing accurate air quality and temperature readouts. It's said that one of the most common household pollutants is generated when we make toast. I was happy to see that when I make toast, the Shark air quality readout lowers almost immediately (even though I always use the kitchen extractor fan when toasting bread) , so it seems that the air quality gauge is now providing what I assume is more or less accurate data. The filter also efficiently rids my apartment of cooking smells from adjacent apartments. It does it so well that even if that's all it did, I'd be happy enough to have bought it for that alone. I have other supposedly high-quality air purifiers, but they couldn't cope with cooking smells very well at all. The temperature readout on this unit is always correct. I have several digital temp gauges in my home, and they all show the same indoor temp as on the Shark unit. So, overall, I'm very happy with the air-cleaning function and fan function on this unit, and the few times I've used it in heating mode, it quickly warmed up my good-sized, high-ceilinged living room. The oscillation function is handy and swivels silently. I've come to really appreciate this this multi-function air purifier/fan/heater, and considering it's a refurbished unit, it's been reliable and efficient, and has more than overcome my concern about its not exactly unobtrusive presence. That said, I've had this unit for just under an year, and haven't used the very effective heater function often enough to determine how costly it would be to use more frequently in the winter months.

Pricey, but great combination unit
I'll review this from a few of the most important standpoints. Size: - It's definitely not small! That being said, before I had a heater and air purifier separately and when stacked this is smaller than those two together. I think it's important to recognize the combination. The footprint itself isn't huge, but it's tall. Sound: - Fan Mode: On a moderate speed of 3 (out of 6) it's still very quiet. On 4 it's pretty noticible. Anything higher it's kinda loud. It's moving good volume of air though at those speeds. I find that even at the moderate speeds it was sufficient air for my office. - Air purifier: A little more quiet than the fan modes at the same speeds - Heat: Again on speed of 3, but it's much much louder. I don't find it louder than my previous infrared heater. Air volume: Good in all modes. It can really put out in the high modes at sacrifice for quietness. Oscillation: Nice to have to more evenly distribute airflow. Remote: I like that it docks in the top of the device with magnets, but feel it's a missed opportunity to have it charge as well. At this price point, it would have been a nice value add. Overall: I think this is a solid unit that would do well for use in a variety of rooms. The lights are controllable so would turn off in a bedroom, and I could see the sound being a good white noise for folks that like that. I appreciate the variable options between heat and fan and really looking forward to that in places like my office that fluctuate wildly.

Love all the options AMAZING !!!!
This is a must have I actually bought more !!! This has really helped my heating and air-conditioned bills out !!! It circulating is perfect for the whole room or if you just need it on you you can stop it from rotation. The air is cool when you need it and warm when you need it !! I live the heated option because when my nephews come in from the pool I can turn it on for them LOL Or in the winter after playing in the snow I can have it ready with hot coco for them !! Even on rainy days it's perfect I just absolutely love it . Or if you want to get a bathroom nice and toasty for soaking spa experience it's perfect for that too . Or if your racking leaves in the fall and you have a sunroom you can use this so you don't have to keep running in and out . I also love the settings 1 to 6 it really blows out alot of air !!! So much so that it can even dry your hair if you want it too LOL I love waking up and seeing the 100! Blue circle knowing all night long I have breathed the best air possible and I don't wake up all stuffed like I used too and no more headaches either !!! This is why I have one in every room now !!! It's definitely an investment but we'll worth it !!! Even fixes the air in the kitchen when you accidentally burn something it quickly cleansing the air and you can watch it go from red circles or yellow circles back to blue circles providing clean air again .

Fresh air, mostly hassle-free
I’ve been using the Shark 3-in-1 Air Purifier for almost a year now and overall it’s done a solid job. The 3-in-1 design tackles dust, odors, and allergens effectively, and I’ve definitely noticed less dust settling on surfaces. The air feels cleaner and fresher, especially in rooms that see a lot of activity. The unit is easy to set up and the controls are straightforward, which I really appreciate. It runs quietly most of the time, so I can leave it on in the bedroom without being disturbed, and the compact design fits nicely into my space without being obtrusive. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is that the filters are a little pricey to replace, and I sometimes feel like it struggles a bit with strong odors compared to higher-end models. That said, it’s still a reliable and convenient purifier that gets the job done for most everyday needs.

Just bought this 3 in 1 Purifier with heater & Fan for our bedroom actually,(change of plans lol)! An absolutely Great Purifier from Shark! The heat is not a joke it keeps us toasty warm, the cooling fan cools fabulously if that is what you are needing. The air purifier mode makes short work of restoring clean air when it is required. It oscillates. The remote is so great,no jumping out of bed in the am. to warm the room before getting ready to start the day. We find it quiet enough to not disturb our sleep, also the light on the info dial can be turned off or dimmed at night while sleeping. This item makes me happy! A 10 out 10 Highly recommend! We also have a smaller unit from Shark in our Family room also 10/10. :)

I don’t like doing bad reviews as I have many other shark products and they are excellent but I was very disappointed with this one. Overall to start with it is a good product however things started to arise after a week. For instance to use the remote you have to be very near the product which beats the object of having a remote, secondly doesn’t really purify the air at low fan speeds needs to be minimum on 4 to do anything, does not get rid of odours as stated and after a couple of weeks of using the heat function we started to get a funny smell. After spending so much money on this product and I was so excited to receive it I have made the decision to send it back for a refund.
