Solid little mic for the price – easy upgrade over built-in audio
I picked up the MAONO USB-C lavalier mic mainly for recording voiceovers on my Android phone and the occasional Zoom call on my MacBook. I didn’t want to deal with bulky gear or adapters—just something that works when I plug it in. And that’s exactly what this mic delivers. Right out of the box, it was plug-and-play. No setup, no app, no drivers. My phone recognized it instantly, and I was recording within seconds. I’ve also used it with my iPad and a USB-C laptop—same smooth experience. Sound quality? Way better than I expected at this price point. My voice comes through clearly, without that hollow or echoey sound you get from built-in mics. It's great for spoken word, like interviews or vlogging. It does pick up a bit of background noise if you’re in a loud space, but that’s normal for omnidirectional mics. The included clip is sturdy, though I recommend being gentle—it feels like it could snap if you force it. The cable is long and flexible, which gives you plenty of room to position the mic how you want. And the foam windscreen actually helps cut down on harsh "P" and "S" sounds. Minor drawbacks: There’s a faint hiss if you're in a silent room and boost the volume too much—but nothing that ruined a recording. The mic picks up everything around you, so it works best in quiet settings. Silicone attracts a bit of lint from your clothes or pocket. Overall, I’m super happy with it. It’s not pro studio quality, but for the price and convenience, it’s honestly a no-brainer. Perfect for TikToks, casual YouTube videos, or improving your audio for video calls.

Sometimes cheap is good!
Super happy with this! I was using a headset for content creation, and this lav produces almost as clear an audio recording without the hassle of a boom in my face. Good price, no functionality issues... WIN!

Great mic, easy install
Very good mic that plugs and play instantly. Works well in large rooms and picks up voices quite well. I would say the closer you are to your subject the better. Definitely not for exclusive voice isolation. No popping noises either.

Good Product!
The microphone has very good audio quality and sensitivity is excellent. I would prefer a more substantial cable, as the cable seems fragile, but no problems so far. I do like the headphone feature as I can plug in a set of headphones to monitor as I am recording. I use it for recording narrations and also acoustic instruments (Mountain Dulcimer and Native American Flute) with good results (with the help of good recording software). All in all, a good product at a good price.

Not for music or stage!
There is no way to attenuate the mic signal at the capsule, so it distorts at the drop of a hat. Optimum placement for a speaker would be at least 12" from the mouth, at the level of maybe the 2nd or even 3rd shirt button. In that location, it sounds fine; any closer and clipping occurs with normal speech levels. Thus, NOT recommended for musical instruments or stage performance (e.g. hiding in a wig or near the face). I'll keep this one because it's cheap, it sounds fine with the limitations above, and I never know when it might come in handy. Oh, and the mounting clip is too small for the mic to fit inside, but aftermarket ones are cheap and easy to find.

Not the Best Option out there
#1 no noticable sound difference between this mic and using the iphone. #2 the fat connector/ short Type C head meant it couldn't plug into a regular iPhone with a case. So I'd have to take my phone case off to be able to use it. I don't think I can return it either having opened it.

amazing value
Works great as a cheap alternative to expensive dictation microphones. I think it gets better voice accuracy than the $300-500 PowerMics used in my profession, though it doesn't have any input buttons that one could configure for hotkeys. Would be willing to pay 2-3 times more for a simple functional USB mic that did...
