I first bought this hat as a gag gift for my buddies at the cabin. But we had rain one day and I was caught out without a raincoat to walk back to my truck. I had put this in my backpack, just in case and this was the time that was the case. I did purchase a really nice tree umbrella from Amazon for less than $20: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0869CJDFB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that is very nice. But when walking without a rain jacket or proper hat, you'll be soaked before you get to camp or the truck. This hat saved the day. It is wide enough to cover my shoulders and front and it even covered part of my backpack. It's not nearly as rainproof as a poncho or coat, but then it also doesn't get you all sweaty like those do either. It fit down over my hat without too much trouble and as you can see in the video, you'll hear me say that it is uncomfortable putting it on as the elastic band is a bit sharp and scratched my forehead. But over a hat, it's not uncomfortable. It is a little difficult to maneuver in and around trees. My hat goes off to the moose, elk, and deer with antlers that can run through trees and brush without bouncing their antlers or getting them caught and falling down, which unfortunately did happen to me a time or two till I got out into thinner woods.

U HV TO WEAR IN THE OPEN. LIKE OUTSIDE... NOT LIKE A HAT... DIFFICULT TO WEAR IF UR WORKING ON UR CAR, for example... NOT PRACTICAL. BUT!! BUT - WHERE ITs 90-100+ degrees & U MUST BE OUTSIDE (YARD WORK, TOURING, etc.), BEATS A HAT - ANY -DAY!!! ANNNNY DAY!!! KEEPS SHOULDERS, OTHER BODY PARTS SHADED AS WELL. CAMO LOOK IS COOL. MY NEIGHBORS DONT KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF IT. HEH. THINK THEY'RE JEALOUS. I DONT CARE!!!! Im COOL. ...LITERALLY!! COME TO FIND OUT, 1 NEIGHBOR HAD ALREADY BOUGHT 2 - FOR HIS DAUGHTERS (PINK). SAYS THEY LOVE 'EM!! KEEP 'EM IN THEIR CARS. WEAR EVERY CHANCE THEY CAN! SAYS HE's GONNA BUY ONE NOW, TOO.. HELL!!! THEY'RE PRACTICAL. THATs WHY THEY WORK.

We bought this for using out floating the river where there is no shade. Worked great! The only down side was the band around the head got a little tight after a while....you definitely can't wear it for hours on end. But it did the job and gave us some shade as needed. Seems like it would work in the rain as well.

Goofy of course. I bought this for shade of course. But for the screen of a drone controller which was impossible to see in direct sunlight. Didn't really help so much for that

My little boy LOVES this hat and it actually works in the rain!! Its a great value for the money and durable. It doesn't slip off his head like some foldable hats. Fits well.

I received them on Monday. But by Thursday one of them broke not build very sturdy . It broke around the rim area just came apart. Not happy

I really like my hat, good for summer heat when you have a bald spot, and neighbours want one or 2 or more for the family when I first saw it on a young man stacking bags of dirt at the local yard I had to have one. little big for going in and outside doors, but great outside, good find, easy to work and worth the money

Very frail. Broke in just one use

I am an adult with a big head and it fits very nicely. It is bigger than I expected, which is good if it stays put. I really haven't used it so I am not going to comment on that.

I went to a festival this weekend & as usual the British weather let us down. The umbrella hats kept us dry & also kept our drinks from being watered down! A lot of people said they looked great as they are wider than most.
