Works great for my 14 month old grandson
Works great for my 14 month old grandson. He got choked on juice and the Dr recommended this. I use 1 scoop per 8 ozs for him. Mixs well. I just use a whisk and then put in him sippy cup and shake for 30 secs. let set for 5 min then ready for him to drink. The only thing that they could change is the amount that is put in the container for the price. The container wasn't even half way full but I needed it for my grandson or I would have returned it. I do recommend it for parents or grandparents with kids that have a problem swallowing.

Creates smooth, thickened liquids
My 15 month old son has had dysphasia since he was born. We went through the ringer to try to find a product that would thicken the formula mixture without changing the texture or flavor of the formula or now his water. He denied so many other products because it would clog his bottles or make liquids grainy. Purathick literally tastes like nothing and leaves the liquids smooth, just thickened. For most of you that are complaining about clumps.....you have to pour the desired amount of Purathick into a bowl and break apart the clumps before adding it to the liquid. So for example I mix a scoop of Purathick with a half a scoop of formula powder in a small glass bowl with a fork. Then I pour the mixture into the water and shake vigorously for a minute or two. This really helps make the mixture smooth and without clumps. Otherwise you will get clumps and they will be gelatinous. Unfortunately that is a downfall but it’s not that much added effort for a nice, drinkable consistency. As for the cost, I agree that it is too high. However, we talked to our doctor about it and now it is ordered through home health. So insurance covers some of the cost (or all of it for us because we hit our out of pocket max every year now) and it is delivered to our door. You may want to look into that option if you are using this product for a medical reason 🙂

Best liquid thickener I’ve found!!
Recently had to start thickening my child’s liquids. We were given sample packs of 3 different types of thickener so I thought I’ll see which I like best. I hated them all & kept thinking there has to be at least one that actually does what it’s supposed to. A mom friend who has to thicken her daughters liquids too recommended Purathick so I ordered a box. There is really no comparison between the 4 other thickeners I tried. Purathick will be my only thickener as long as we’re on this thickening journey.

Works great
I don’t know why some people are having g issues with this stuff. I was using Thick It for my sons aspiration, it needed to be honey thick. It was just slimy and 2 people who did a taste test said it was gross. He took small sips but definitely not enough to keep him hydrated. During feeding therapy our therapist tried this stuff, and he gulped it down. I immediately ordered it and blender bottles and it works great. No clumps, actually looks like a liquid (just thicker). We put it in the honey bear bottles or straight from a cup and have lots of success!I took a star off for the price— it’s pretty expensive, it adds up when you are buying a bit.

Great for adults with dysphagia!
Very grateful to have found this!! Mom is 87 years, in hospice, post stroke and with advanced dementia. We went thru a few large jugs of GMO cornstarch based thickener until my brain kicked in that may the a piece of her GI pain/discomfort/sharply increasing irregularity. She has always eaten a clean, mostly organic gluten free diet with no GI issues. Started using this and GI pain notably decreased and GI irregularity more manageable now. The company sent samples and a mixer cup. I initially tried it and couldn't get it to mix well so set it aside. Then called the company to ask why it wasn't mixing well and they sent samples and the cup with a whisker in it. Makes ALL the difference to mix cold or room temp liquids in cup with whisker. Stirring with a spoon alone does NOT work like it does with GMO cornstarch products. Once used the whisker mixing cup, both cold, room temp and hot fluids mix up smooth, well, and consistently. Thank you Purathick for providing a product to make the end of life a bit more comfortable for us. Only suggestion would be to provide large serving container options. We go thru one small jar's worth in a week. People with dsyphagia go thru a lot more than people just thickening daily foods, etc. Again, thank you, Purathick.

Great product
My son has to use this due to aspirating and it works great for him! Only issue is it tends to clump up easily but I feel like it’s more of a user error vs the product

BETTER THAN THICK-IT FOR MY COFFEE!
I was using Thick-it today thicken to nectar, but the flavor of my coffee was just horrible... completely changed the flavor and made it so bad I wouldn’t use it sometimes even though I was supposed to...Purathick thickened it in 3-5 minutes, and although ideally you need a protein shaker to mix it, the flavor and the feeling in the mouth was sooo much better..I I also like the fact that it is organic and it only have A couple of natural ingredients.. I tried it with orange juice and it also worked well!

Liquid Thickener
In my personal use opinion this item works best in hot liquids. I put it in coffee, tea, soup and sauces (all hot) it dissolves very well as stated. However, I tried it with cold and room temperature liquids adding it to the liquid and it was clumpy and didn't dissolve completely leaving clumps of the powder. I still use it but only for hot liquids. I suggest the gel liquid thickener (Simply Thick brand) for the cold and room temperature items as it only takes 20 seconds and no clumping. Perfect for on the go person and outside use with its individual packets.
