Built of metal. Nice stakes in to the ground. Good wire. My only issue is they claim 50,000 hours or so. I'm right at 2 years. Had to replace some last year, figured they were just bad. Right now as you can see from the picture, 2 are out, 2 are fading. You can't see one is the faded ones as its out of the image. At 10 hours a night, that's only 7,300 hours for 2 years. I had to buy more just so they match now.
