I took the CCM test today and passed. Listen everyone, upon initial assessment of the book I looked at the back of the book and immediately became disappointed because THE RATIONALES TO THE ANSWERS ARE NOT IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK! When I saw that the rationales were missing I put the book to the side and didn't look at it for over 1 month. I typically study with questions and rationales. I eventually hit a study “brick wall” after answering all of the questions in another test guide (CCM EXAM Secrets) and needed the test questions for a challenge. Desperate, I took the first test and didn’t do as well as I thought I would, especially since I had read the material. I decided to go through and look up the answers that I got right and wrong one by one. It was then that I realized WHY the rationales were not included in the answers. The test questions were almost verbatim as the material from the reading section. The book is sectioned off and when you try to find the answer, it’s there-exactly as stated in the test question. No guessing here folks. It also gives you the ability to know right away a section that you need to work on because the questions are sectioned as well. It helped me to know my weak domains/areas and each part was in small chunks so you have a start and end goal that is manageable. In the end, I appreciated that the rationales were “missing” from the answer key. It ensured that I actually took the time to completely read each section. With questions to challenge me it helped me focus on what I was reading and not miss skip any material. Not only are the answers there; many of them are in sequence with reading material. I feel that reading all of the material was key to passing and this book helped to guide me and take something that was completely overwhelming and bring it to focus. Don’t try to cut corners with studying test questions and rationales only. It will do you no good. Go to each question, read the material to find the answer in your reading and challenge your understanding of what you read with those questions. I rarely write reviews, but I thought it might help someone who learns the way I do and have hit a wall and need questions as a guide to get over it. ### ⭐⭐ The book has not been updated to reflect changes in the exam. *by B***. on Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2018* Very good resource, but from the title, I would have thought the material would be updated from the 2013 book. The only updates were formatting. Also, there are no test taking tips or strategies in the book. I would rate it higher if it had updates. ### ⭐ Do NOT buy *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2018* Worst book I have ever used. So many type-o’s, blank pages, formatting errors. This book, stayed to be the 2018-2019 study giude, still talks about ICD-9 codes.Please do NOT buy this book.
