Such a simple tool but very effective.

The principle that these strips of plastic use to find the center of a board edge is nothing new, and I imagine the Greeks were using something similar thousands of years ago. Yet, they work with all the accuracy you could want. No fumbling with a ruler or tape measure. Just pick the right length for the width you are measuring and mark it. As a burgeoning woodworker, I find that such gadgets make everyday tasks so much easier.

Just make a series of dots instead of scribing to hold the device secure. Then use a straight edge to connect the dots. I found that any off motion of my hand while scribing threw the line off. Better to just connect the dots. Then it's PERFECT !

Works great for a quick reference

As soon as i received the center finder-marker set, i started using it to accurately mark centers of wood pieces for cutting with a hole saw. This simple and accurate gadget set replaces measuring in two places, marking, and checking. For my needs right now, the 4” piece is most useful. The other sizes would be for a different project.
