The little PC that could.
This isn't going to be a gaming machine, but I work in A/V and having a pocket device that can output dual 4k signal is extremely useful. Seems to do fine with decoding video with VLC if the file is local to the machine. The wifi is a little weak I think because trying to watch a movie from my NAS it will freeze up every few minutes. I do wish it had a USB-C port that was for more than just charging. It does make a great little remote terminal though, I can set it up in a network rack then remote into it to activate functions while I'm out in the area where they are being executed. In the short time I have had it, the time savings it has provided has already made up the value of what I paid for it. The only complaint I have is that it gets SUPER hot to the touch if you are doing anything that will stress it, not quite enough to burn you but it's uncomfortable to hold onto and a little concerning.

Honey I shrunk the PC
Solid little PC. Fast and very responsive. Typical of a larger laptop or desktop pc. It looks like it got hit by shrink gun. Only two things I would comment: It gets HOT. Try 115 deg F. Toasty. If this is a concern, there is a model with a fan which may help. The Screen is small. Borderline too small. I purchased a 10.5” screen to attach for field use. I am 50 and my eyesight isn’t 20 anymore. So definitely consider this.

MALWARE COMES PRE-INSTALLED! ISN'T THAT AWESOME?
I got this mini-pc on a whim, so travel to blackhat & defcon, it's the perfect size and form factor, the hardware is tight. I Cannot complain about that. Yes it runs a little hot but that's expected for a device this small and expecting it to do big pc things. 5.5 inch super responsive touchscreen, 2hdmi out, 4 usb3 ports, even has a tpm chip. you can't go wrong here. This should have been a 5 star review. So what went wrong? Welp. this device ships with at least 2 copies of the RAVS.B VIRUS, straight from the manufacturer's supply chain. You probably wouldn't notice until it's too late, but it shows up only after you get everything loaded for the first time and you run your first Defender scans. Sure, You can try to clean up the viruses but that may not work given this nasty little bugger. Frankly you are better off doing a full pc reset, remove all apps and files and download windows from the cloud and force a FULL clean reinstall. So, in good faith I cannot endorse a malware laden device without saying : buyer beware! It's a lovely little device, but be prepared. if you do purchase this device, be sure to purge and rebuild the OS before doing any real stuff with it.

Unexpected Quality and Durability
I’ve had one of the Higole Mini-PCs for almost a year now, so it’s seen some use. It’s one of the best performing SBC’s that I’ve seen. I use it for Software Defined Radio and it never falters. I does generate some heat when taxing the processor but I’ve never had it fail. As far as durability, I was surprised the amount of abuse it’s handled these past 11months. I drop it constantly. And it still works with an excellent picture and touch functionality. I dropped it recently and thought I damaged the screen. I contacted the company to get info on a replacement display. They do stock everything from the display to the pcb and at really reasonable prices. Luckily, as I took apart the case, I found the display issue was an electrical connection that was jarred out of alignment. I repositioned it, and works like new. I’ve tried it as a dual boot with a Linux Distro, and was flawless . I run VM ware also for Linux and it works great. If you must have a large display from time to time, use the HDMI and fun it on a flat screen. When , I learned of their next release which is a 16GB version, it instantly went on my list of tech to buy this year. Don’t get me wrong, it works fine at 8GB of RAM, the extra RAM will come in handy for multitasking or applications with a lot of throughput. Honestly, it’s a darker case and looks cool and I just want it. -Jason Burchell, Southern California, USA

Cool little windows pc, but has issues
This is a good little PC, but there are a few problems with. The first of which is the one I got doesn’t have a battery so you have to be plugged in all the time, but I knew that going in. The second problem is it overheats!! it gets very very hot to the point that you can’t hold it. I had to use a fan to keep it cool enough to hold it. the third problem is it crashes, A LOT!! I would get a solid 30 min of use while playing solitaire and that’s it. Anything else, updates, web browsing trying to stream, I’d be lucky to get 5 to 10 min before it would have to restart. Also, the wifi was inconsistent, I would not be moving, but the signal was all over the place and I had zero problem with any other wifi device. So that was the bad. The good is, the screen is pretty nice, sharp, bright and responsive to touches (although windows is not a touch oriented OS, the screen was good enough that I didn’t have to many issues and I have gorilla hands. It has plenty of outputs and is easy to hold and works like any other windows pc (if it worked for more than a few minutes at a time. Overall,, maybe I got a defective unit, (over heating, constant crashes) but I might consider it again some day, if they work out some of the bugs.
