Deceptive
I love Provence Sante soaps, but usually I buy the Bergamot scent, which is in fact wonderful. But somewhere I saw that this was their most popular scent so I decided to try it. When I opened the plastic wrap I sniffed it and it really didn't have much of a scent at all. I like their soaps because they produce a really nice satisfying lather and leave you feeling squeaky clean, but not dried out, with a light scent residue that doesn't interfere with perfumes--so I love Provence Sante soaps. I wasn't going to reject the Linden because it didn't seem to smell of much of anything--that's OK too. But here is the deceptive part. I put the soap in the shower stall all untouched and ready for the morning. The next morning my bathroom had been perfumed with a clean, slightly sweet, not girl-y at all scent, and not an overpowering scent. It just smells fresh and clean--despite the chaos and mess in my bathroom. After a week at least it's still smells wonderful in the bathroom. Now I get why Linden is their most popular scent because it is so aromatic that scents the air wonderfully, without being overpowering in any way on the skin. I recommend it without reservation.

Best soap
This soap is awesome. Vetiver helped 100 percent calm down my 5 year old for bedtime. And I use the oil during the day. Great soap and smells good.

love this soap
I have been buying this soap (mainly linden but the almond is lovely too) for many years) - the scent is light and does not linger particularly but it is enjoyable as I don't care for heavy scents. It lathers beautifully and lasts well. It is quite large but because of the value compared to the smaller-sized soaps, I buy it. I actually cut the bar in half with a large serrated knife, like a bread knife, to make it a little easier to handle. I lose some crumbs and sometimes some small pieces and the halves are still quite large and it isn't as pretty but it works for me. (I don't need to impress anyone with my soap - lol)

Best bath soap I have ever found
Subtle but nice scent, unbelievable feel and frothing. So good in the bath, it can also be used for shaving! Mitchell's wool fat is a close competitor, although PS has the better scent and may froth a little easier. Both are well worth the money, although MWF is somewhat cheaper per bar.

One big hunk of soap…
While this rose soap smells heavenly and makes impressive lather, the shape leaves something to be desired (which is why I took off one star). This bar of soap is HUGE, and for someone with smaller hands, you will have to use this soap in the shower for at least a week with both hands, because it is so big that it’s impossible to hold with one hand. Right there, that’s a big pain in the neck. The only way around this that I can see is to cut the soap into two pieces with a knife as soon as you unwrap it so that it’s easier to hold. Also, because it is so big, it doesn’t fit very well into the soap dish in the shower. It is always on the hairy edge of falling out until weeks later, when it has shrunk enough so that it fits. And because of the shape, where it is slightly skinnier in the middle because it’s curved…well, you know where this thing is going to break into two parts when it finally gets small enough. Yep, it broke right down the middle eventually, and then I had to smash the two pieces together to make it into one piece again. All in all, the shape and size left a lot to be desired. If I were going to give this as a gift, I’d definitely give the smaller, 3.5-oz. disc-shaped soaps of this same scent because giving this huge bar as a gift would probably similarly annoy the recipient. It’s a nice, generous hunk of soap, but it’s just too massive to be practical. Something in size that’s midway between this and the small discs would be ideal, as the 3.5-oz soaps dissolve quickly because they are small, but this ¾ of a pound bar is just too massive and unwieldy the way it’s currently presented.

Poor value as it only lasted 5 weeks
All reviews commented on the size and long-lasting qualities of this bar. Well maybe they only used the soap 1x week because with daily showers my bar lasted only 5 weeks. It never sat in a puddle of water or on the floor of the shower. The scent was great but the large size a bit awkward to handle. I had hoped to make this my regular soap but I won’t be purchasing again as it is a very poor value for the money.

Smells fresh and wonderful, lasts a long time.
Smells great, lasts a long time. I use it with a long-handled soft brush in the shower, and it lathers up nicely. Hope this is always available. If you have small hands, use it with a brush or puff, and it'll be easier to make use of, rather than trying to grasp it in wet hands and apply it directly to your body.

Does not smell like Vetiver at all
I like this brand of soap so I tried this large bar. They need another name for it, because it smells like my BFs antiperspirant, but I have vetiver essential oil and the two smell completely different. The soap is great, lathers without drying. Will continue to use the brand, just not this scent
