Excellent, well worth the money!
If you're someone who's really interested in adapting your skills in music production and just have a small home studio/bedroom etc, then I highly recommend these, they have made my mixes a billion times better, I listened to some of my old stuff and I just think "What the F#1**? How did I think these were any good to show my friends" I've noticed, that in my room at least, they've really boosted the lows, bass stands out a lot better which makes mixing a LOT easier, and the kick drums, they really help, and they're really worth it, also, there's a website you can use that will help tell you how many panels and bass traps you need depending on your room measurements. Just Google search "universal acoustics" and click "Room Kit Calculator" underneath the first link! :) It's inevitable that I'll be buying more of these, they're just great!

Echoes no more!
I have now purchased a second 24 tile pack, as I not only used the original 24, but I found that my new room was large and echoed with nearly every sound, I understand that these tiles don't "soundproof" but they have certainly muffled the echoes produced from my long gaming sessions and any other loud noises I make, they make a good pattern on the wall, and look stylish, I used standard Adhesive Spray to stick them to the wall and it didn't require much spray per panel, very good quality even though some tiles were ever so slightly larger or longer than others. Makes phone calls and video calls online sound much nicer, even if only I can hear the difference.

Home recording
I've been playing around with home recording, having transformed a bedroom into an occasional studio with a range of equipment and some MXL 603 microphones for acoustic guitar and vocal recording. Being a bedroom, it lacks the assured silence and acoustic dampening that would be ideal (having the curtains closed helps!). I looked into commercial microphone shields and acoustic booths but the cost seemed higher than I could justify. Being a fan of a bit of DIY, it struck me that, with some acoustic foam and a simple frame, I could create my own acoustic shield. There are a lot of different foam panels available and some are clearly more professional (and expensive) than others. These seemed very reasonably priced and the 12 inch (300mm) square size gave me a lot of flexibility in how I mounted them. The result? OK, so nobody is going to believe I achieved commercial studio standards but the panels are certainly doing their job. My home made acoustic booth, in combination with microphone shock mountings for ground isolation, is providing a very adequate shield and definitely improves the overall acoustic performance. Not bad for the price of the panels and a few wooden straps, hinges, screws and spray glue for mounting. I reckon it saved me at least £100 over any similar, commercially produced product.

Good quality, as described acoustic tiles
If you need acoustic tiles then I would say its worth buying these, they are exactly as described and are well made. When I got mine they had the occasional 1cm by 1cm little gouged bit of foam and there were some extra ridges on the edge of some(Which you could easily pry off), as well as some hanging foam strings which if you peel off strips a very small line of foam off. But none of these effect the quality or function of the tiles and I am just as pleased by them, being foam im sure this is the normal condition for machine cut tiles. My only real problem which might be independent to me and not to do with the product, was the courier or just way that the foam was sent. It was in a 4 by 2 ft box which looked like it had been rolled down a hill into a flooded field, opened and then re-stuck with the same tape. I was worried that tiles would be missing, damaged or damp as the plastic bag holding them inside the box was also opened and pulled back, fortunately none were missing or damaged.

Know what you are getting
What should be noted: this is not "acoustic foam". It is packaging foam cut in the shape of acoustic wedges. But what is acoustic foam, really? Just denser, more across-the-spectrum attenuating foam (2" will never get bass attenuation). And as such, it is more expensive. This material does a very limited job in a limited range. Compare it with the STC of Auralex and it is about half as effective. It is also about a quarter of the price. That is usually the trade-off. If you just need something simple to stop some slap-back off a wall, this will work. and clean up a room. Even for vocals it should help reduce things bouncing around. But, having used both products, Auralex is more effective at both these simple tasks. If you are just doing music as a hobby, this product is very cost effective. If you are doing it seriously, step up to a higher-end product. Or build your own using Corning 703 for a more permanent solution. But the beauty of foam is its portability...

Great value!
I purchased these tiles because it was the next step in creating an amateur studio. As music making is more of a hobby than anything else, I knew that I did not want to spend a huge amount of money. Also, I had a very limited idea on how to acoustically treat a room, so I did not want to buy super expensive tiles incase I got it wrong. I am very pleased with these tiles. I put them on my wall in alternating orientations and they have had a positive effect. Sound now feels punchier and the room echoes less. In all fairness, I don't think these are true acoustic tiles as they aren't very dense and most other places charge many pounds per tile. That being said, these tiles do work well, look the part and you just cannot complain for the price. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. On a side note, other reviewers have mentioned a very strong chemical smell upon opening the box: I did not experience this. The tiles do not smell at all.
