it is what it is
i like the gentle clicks it makes and not the strong clicks other mechanical keyboards make. it feels strong and i like the rainbows. it has an option to change the lights from a still to like this flashing/fading thing but i don't use that. it looks good (though since i play a lot of games and im a coward, the S key is gradually getting scratched off lmao) it works pretty well and it feels good to use. the ize is great because the lasy mechanical keyboard i had was way to big (im small with small hands) so a smaller keyboard not only gives me more space on my desk but feels better to use

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I've had this keyboard for around three weeks now, and I can easily say it's the best keyboard I've owned! Granted, I haven't owned many that I've really wanted to, and so I'm no expert but it works, looks amazing and feels great to type on too. The overall design of the keyboard is slightly slimmer and less wide than a usual keyboard by the fact that the base has been reduced slightly in thickness, and there's very little border around the keys, this, however doesn't make it any less sturdy. The layout's fantastic - all keys are easy to read and decipher even when the back lighting is turned off, and there are signal lights to show "number lock / caps lock / scroll lock" which are obvious and in a perfect place (top right-hand corner). The key to turn the back lighting on / off is easy to spot as showing a small sun-like symbol, placed in between the right-hand FN (function) key, and Ctrl (control) key. The keyboard's weight is decent, slightly more than I imagined, but lighter than any regular keyboard. The colours don't change or rotate, and you can't fix them to one specific colour, but to me the full rainbow is what I was looking for in a backlit gaming keyboard, which looks good in full light, but looks even better in darker settings. The only thing I had to get used to whilst typing on this keyboard, was the Enter key; it's an oblong shape, so I had trouble adapting to not pressing a little above it while I typed. On one final note, the wire is shorter than I expected meaning I had to find some extension cords to be able to plug it into the back of my computer, but it works completely perfectly, and that is my one and only downside. For those worried: - It came in good time - It looks exactly as it does in the picture shown - It's well packaged and came with instructions to help you set up, along with contact information so you could get hold of the seller if need be (I had no reason to) - Great quality for the price paid, would DEFINITELY use this seller again :) EDIT - as a quick update, I have now had this keyboard for round about 2 years, and I still use it every single day without any issues. Still as good as the day I got it :)

Good value but uneven backlighting and no memory for backlight state
The price seems to vary from day to day, but it's good value for a backlit keyboard. I didn't actually want the backlighting. I bought a backlit keybaord because the keytop printing on previous keyboards kept wearing off with heavy use. This shouldn't happen with a backlit keyboard because the keytop labels run right through the keys so that the backlighting can show through them. As other users have commented, the backlighting is quite uneven. Some keys are brightly illuminated and others faintly illuminated. I don't care because I use the keyboard with the backlighting off. It's apparently a membrane keyboard (which accounts for the low cost) but the key shape and travel make it feel like a mechanical one. The one drawback I find with this keyboard is that it doesn't remember the backlighting state when it is powered off. When it is powered on again it always comes up with the red backlighting. I switch my computer off when I'm not using it in order to save energy, so every time I switch it on again I have to press the ❂ key three times to turn the backlight off. The rather thin documentation tells you that pressing the the ❂ key changes the backlight colour but doesn't tell you the sequence. It's red (on power up), blue, purple, off. It powers up with maximum backlight brightness: pressing Fn and Page Down decreases the backlight brightness through 5 steps to off and pressing Fn and Page Up increases the backlight brightness. The only keys with Alt Gr(aphic) labels are ` and 4, but you may get a full set of alternative characters depending on the keymap that your computer uses. On my (Linux) machine the Alt Gr keymap is |¹²³€½¾{[]}\¸ @ſe¶ŧ←↓→øþ[] æßðđŋħˀĸł |«»¢„“”µ•·̣ The []'#/ keys produce Alt Gr characters, but they disappear again when I type something else. The shifted Alt Gr map is |¡⅛£¼⅜⅝⅞™±°¿˛ Ω§E®Ŧ¥↑ıØÞ ÆẞЪŊĦ ̛&Ł ¦<>©‚‘’º×÷÷˙

Great Keyboard at a great price
I’ve seen many negative reviews on Amazon for this keyboard but really don’t understand why – ignore them! This is a great keyboard. It feels great to use and I like the fact that the keys have a little spacing around them, which helps minimise keystroke errors. Yes it has got the logo to the right of the main keyboard but it really isn’t anything to moan about! Like the backlights and nice to have the option of turning these off (I bought the keyboard to use at my desk in the office so really don’t need the backlights on at all!). I would say that the only slight negative for me (but that’s me nit-picking!) is that the keys are very slightly inverted domed (they have a slight dent in the centre) so that when I use the keyboard in the office, the lights above me in the ceiling are being reflected in the shiny keys of the keyboard making it a little difficult to see the letters but other than that, a truly fabulous imitation mechanical keyboard at a fraction of the cost! Update - 27th June'19 I ordered this around the 3rd April and have been using it every day since then - this is a quick update!! Keyboard still going strong, no problems at all! Only slight negatives (again, nit picking) - the keys that you use most frequently (e, a,s,d, c, left shift key, parts of the space bar and some of the arrow and number keys), have become slightly more shiny than the rest, where they have been used more than the other keys. This causes little smear marks where your fingers will naturally sweat so find myself having to wipe my keyboard daily to get rid of these marks. Also - the gaps between the keys are prone to collecting lots of dust - more so than a standard keyboard but other that these 2 small negatives, its still a great keyboard!

Great Keyboard, and Excellent for the Price
This is a very good keyboard, but for the deal price of £14.44, it is excellent. It is now £16.99, which is still a bargain! I use it for typing and general computer work. I do not use if for gaming. There are a few little niggles: The keys markings are not very visible unless in bright light. I am a touch typist, but I do need to see the keys when selecting the f numbers and some other functions. However the LED backlight helps with this. I find the blue and red backlight a bit intrusive, however the purple light is fine. Plus you can set this with three brightness options. It is a bit too easy to hit the backlight key by mistake though, which will either change the colour or switch it off. As a touch typist I find the keys are slightly closer together, but I'm sure I will get used to this soon. If you are not a touch typist you probably won't notice this. It is a nice smallish size so will fit easily on just about any desktop. It doesn't come with a palmrest, though this keeps the size down. The keys are actually better than in the image. It appears the keys have been updated. The enter key is now the correct size and the # key is in the right place. Some reviewers mentioned that the # key was above the enter key and that the enter key was too small. I can now confirm that this has been corrected as in my recent delivery of this fine keyboard. I was going to give this 4 stars because of the few small niggles. However it is well worth 5 stars, which I have amended. Overall this is a great keyboard. A bargain and highly recommended.

Remarkably average, which for me is perfect
So I want to start by saying I did not get this intending for it to be a "pro-gaming" keyboard, because it clearly isn't that. If you wanted that you will be disappointed. However, it's a great keyboard for people who use their computer casually, like if they spend a lot of time talking to friends online and stuff like that. Pros - Design is smooth and feels good to type on it compared to other keyboards of a similar price (which is precisely the reason I got that keyboard, because my last keyboard was unbearable to use). I don't get why people are saying it feels stiff, it doesn't. Soft, but not stiff. Heck, my keyboard didn't even have the issue with the enter key people keep bringing up (is there multiple versions or something?). - A bit of an odd one, but I like the sound it makes. While nowhere near mechanical keyboard level, the sound it makes is oddly pleasing to me. It might just be a "me" thing though. - Surprisingly compact for a full-size keyboard. I kid you not, I could put this in my bag and go to my grandma's house and just pull it out with my laptop. Super convenient and I very much appreciate design like that. - Works perfectly fine. If you just want a keyboard that "works" then this is just what you need, my friends. Cons - Inconsistent lighting makes it awkward to tell what brightness setting to set it to. There doesn't even seem to be a set theme with the brightest keys either, which makes this very odd to me. - The writing on the keys is also very inconsistent. This is very much a minor annoyance, but if you're bothered by stuff like that, this keyboard might not be for you. - This might just be a problem with the one I got, but the cable at the back doesn't fit properly with the hole, which got me very worried. I was able to fix it by holding it in place with some tape, but this could potentially be a big issue that you might want to look into. Overall this keyboard is very average. But for me, and hopefully some other people, that's perfect. I didn't mention anything relating to actual gaming keyboards, because I've never used an actual gaming keyboard. I'm a casual gamer. But if you, like me, just want an upgrade from a really bad cheap keyboard you've been using until you found it unbearable at a very low cost, this is the keyboard for you.

Even my Grandmother wants one!
I purchased this product as our main family computer is in a dark area in our living room and so when it got later in the evening it was difficult to see the keys, even with all the lights on! So I did some research and found this little gem for only £9.99, although I was skeptical of the price at first since my personal keyboard is backlit and worth around £50 when I bought it so I was suspicious of the build quality. Once the product arrived it came in nice secure packaging. It was very easy to set up and start with no issues whatsoever really, which was a nice start. The keys aren't completely like a conventional mechanical keyboard as it is only "Mechanical Feeling" as it states, however the keys still have a nice proper feel to them as you type. all the keys seemed to work fine and nothing was amiss, again I was impressed thus far. Now to the main reason I purchased this keyboard. The backlighting. I had read a few reviews that people were saying that it was too dim, even in the darkly lit corner of our living room, it seemed to be shining bright, very visible in all lighting! My parents had tried it out individually themselves and both seemed very impressed! The build quality seems solid and the keys have a very nice feel to them, the backlighting not only looks very appealing but also is very functional for those struggling to see the keys in darker lighting. I personally prefer darker lit rooms so it's perfect for myself. Compared to my £50 Keyboard, I'll admit it isn't as impressive, but surprisingly, it isn't far off! And considering the difference in price and value for money, I would definitely have to recommend this piece of equipment. A day after purchasing the product and my father has already taken to showing off the new cool looking keyboard and in only one day after the products arrival, my grandmother wants one herself! A second one already ordered and no complaints from her either, so it seems to fit all demographics! Very impressed, would have to try some other Rii products in the future.
